The Imperial City Celebration begins Thursday, September 3 at 10:00AM EDT, and will run until Tuesday, September 15 at 10:00AM EDT

Originally, we had planned to begin these tests next Monday to coincide with Update 27’s PC launch. We will now instead be starting the tests in Cyrodiil on Tuesday, September 8.

So the first week of AOE tests in Cyrodiil will be during the IC event. The tests are already going to give a bunch of false positives due to player behaviour changing to accommodate the tests or people completely avoiding Cyrodiil during the tests, so do we think it is a good idea to run the IC event during the first week of tests and draw even more people away from Cyrodiil?

Has this been thought through?

I 100% agree, I think the IC event should be postponed until after the AOE testing phases are over.

Or vice-versa, ZOS probably won't want to delay the IC event now that it has been publicised. But delaying the AOE tests would be a great call.

I mean, any event was going to pull players out of Cyrodiil. They can't delay events for weeks.

And at least this gives somewhere for players to go who are all "I refuse to test!" And means that they are still playing ESO, as opposed to some other game.

Which is to say that the Marketing department probably said "Yeah, yeah, Devs, run your tests. But don't get in the way of our Marketing Stunts."

It is interesting that they schedule a PVP event that will pull players out of Cryodiil right at the time they want players in there for performance testing.

Just reinforces the notion that the Marketing team is really in charge at ZOS.
