That's why I said in my initial post:No, because people would cherry pick the most overpowered skill lines and passives and create basically a god-tier class.
But, they didnt want to do all the maths needed to balance the passives (i.e lazy), and online-gamers who play MMO's are too accustomed to WoW and WoW-clones to adapt to anything different (i.e stubborn and lazy).
Nah, you could still theorycraft to your hearts content. Then it would be made completely redundant to theory craft and consider which classes to bring to certain content depending on passives they apply to the group, damage output, survivability, utility. It would be a one size fits all for tanks, healers and dds respectively at endgame and no one would alternate from it creating even less diversity than what there is now in the meta. Yeah sure your casual players could come up with some creative builds but that suggestion is a living nightmare for power creep. Classes make sense.

It’s time for the option to change class.
It’s time.
No please, everyone would be running around as the next flavor of the month build, instead of playing the class they were playing.
I'm not against the option to re-birth a character as another class, to level 1. Keeping the current amount of skill points, but resetting all those in the class's skill area. This way we can experience the game on a main, keep the skillpoints + skilllevels and achievements, but play as another class.

Was told "It is impossible to change class or alliance... 'bla bla bla', nobody at Zenimax Support can do such a change nor does game code allow it"
NO KIDDING a week and a half later... Alliance Change tokens available in Crown store LOL
was one of those big *eyeroll* moments lol
