Can someone clarify this Chaurus egg mystery?

So, most sites state the Chaurus egg, dormant, is from the crown store: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/File:ON-item-furnishing-Chaurus_Egg,_Dormant.jpg

But this one is listed for sale: https://us.tamrieltradecentre.com/pc/Trade/Detail/364763983

And friends have bought them from traders. Are they in the new house and sellable? Or are they dropping?

If so, from where?

Do you happen to know if it's the large chauruses you killed or just a regular one?

Further, you are positive it was this furnishing and not the ruined one?

I had one (Chaurus egg dormant) drop from a mob of pale chaurus I think; fairly sure as I tend to avoid the larger ones;) Was in one of the dungeons whilst doing a daily in Skyrim.

Sorry for the slow reply, wanted to log in to double check and it is the dormant one. It dropped off one of the larger chaurus mobs on the ledges just north of the deep overlook wayshrine

I also got one from a regular chaurus in eastern blackreach.

I just got a second one from a chaurus hatchling (that spawned out of an egg) in the dark moon grotto area, so it seems they can drop from any chaurus mob

Acquired them from fighting a heapload (dungeon) Chaurus in all their stages, super rare, maybe got 5 exploring on two chars through storyline. (and derping arund)

Pretty sure I got mine in Chillwind depths too because that is one of the dailies. I don’t think I fought any of the larger chaurus, just the Falmer, possibly one of the hatching chaurus eggs described above.

If you see one in a house on Solitude it is not a furnishing. I picked one up and it’s just a ruined piece of trash at that point.

My friend got two from the bigger brown chaurus with the fancy health bars. I know he got his first one in chill wind delve i believe the name is. I have seen them in his house so i can confirm they are dropping.

For me i do dailies ( i haven't farmed it ) and i have yet to see a drop myself. Pretty rare i'm assuming.
