Imperial City: Alliance Lock might be best.

Hello all, I recently got into pvp with my brother, and due to the solo queue only bgs we go to the imperial city to avoid the lag and have some small scale pvp. We farm the bosses there for telvar as well and if we lose we just keep it rolling, but one time we ran into an individual who got salty and whispered us about just swapping over to EP to leech the bosses. Well he did and needless to say it was annoying. I understand not wanting to be beaten, especially when you're outnumbered, but you shouldn't have the ability to just hop over to the winning side. What's the point then? You can just go into IC, see what faction is winning and just go on a character in that faction. Perhaps imperial city should have an alliance lock to discourage this and maybe; encourage more people to fight for control of the city/bosses. Has anyone else encountered this, or thought about this also?

the problem is just "noobs" do this (swapping over to EP to leech the bosses) normal and good pvper would rather switch to the losing side to have more fights cause its very boring to run around in a zerg

so now the good thing is gone and many people forget the negatives about alliance lock
i have 2 friends since a very long time im yellow the other one red and the third blue so cause of alliance lock it is already IMPOSSIBLE to play with this 2 good friends in cyrodil cause we all play cp and the not locked campaign is dead(and no thats not cause of it having no lock if u want i can explain) so if u now will do the same with ic and so litterly kill playing with other friends u would kill WHOLE pvp for us cause there are only 3 methods of pvp : cyrodiil / bgs / ic cyrodiil is out cause of lock and bgs are only solo queue so the only thing we already can do is play ic if u remove it me my friends and likly many other would quiet cause the game would have ZERO pvp options

I can definently see where you're coming from. I had the same issue where my brother and guild mates. I just made a new toon on ep, but I can see how that really isn't the best solution. Aside from that one guy whispering me I've definitely noticed others do it too. It's frustrating, cause there aren't that many people in IC, aside from a huge guild doing an event for a bit. It sucks that once you finally get into some small scale, people get salty.

While a lock might be popular in Cyrodil (or unpopular depending on who you ask) it's only on one campaign and it makes sense because there is an overall campaign score and a goal of winning for the month. IC has no such score. Literally it exists only for farming. Who controls the districts at any given time doesn't even matter much other than being able to respawn there and run by the flag without getting attacked. The sewers don't even have that going for them. It's just a pvp/pve farming zone. Without any kind of campaign score or goal, there's no reason for a lock despite the minor annoyance of people jumping factions to get to the more populated alliance..

If anything IC needs to have a max group size of 4 to stop zergs building up, this is what usually kills the population when a ball group or huge zerg has finished killing a cyro campaign they usually move to the IC to farm district bosses and wipe everyone not grouped, this usually leads to the creation of a bigger zerg to wipe them.

I agree that the group size should be smaller, that's actually a good point. I've seen huge groups down there and say to myself "if they're here to farm telvar its gonna be bad for them cause there's so many of them". Its not like the bosses spawn back super fast, and with a group that size nobody is gonna be able to stop them.

i can understand that but i dont think this would solve anythink ballgroups wouldnt even mind they would just do the same and comunicate in ts/discord

and random zergs would just comunicate throw the zone chat which would be a useless spam so i think it is shgood as it is
