Should both gender toons have access to the same hairstyles?

I mean, my brute nord can wear a full face of jarring makeup but long hair is a no-no.

    Nope. They should not.

    Elaborate?

My answer was pretty clear. I disagree with male and female genders having access to same hairstyles.

Care to explain why? If someone wants to make gracefully balding lady, I'd say let them, no?

I (despite my sometimes strong wishes to the contrary - it varies by day - gender is fun - genetics are weird - hormones suck) rock a beard that would put many men to shame, unless I take steps to remove it. **sigh** This is despite being rather decidedly equipped with the non-male side of our genetic options. And yet I have female characters that are unable to even wear short hair, aside from a few rather disappointing styles.

Ole Gatekeeper here, gatekeeping hairstyles :D

I'd like to see them opened up, jewellery as well. The only downside is that I already spend waaaay too long chosing hairstyles in character creator, so more choice isn't always best for me personally.

I don't care one way or the other. I am waiting for dirty looking hair and dirty body and face markings and more scruffy looking armor styles.

Yeah, there are loads of NPCs with a 'dirty peasant' skin overlay. Let's get that as well!

Honestly there's a lot of NPC-only stuff. I'm still annoyed that my Orc can't get the nice green skin like Grushbub and the other Orcs in Vlukwasten. Not to mention the shade of red hair that Nords like Trynhild have which we can't use, or the blue eyes that the Altmer guild trader Erwulde in Mournhold has but is not available to us.

But yes, bring on the NPC hairs!

I actually found having the hairstyle pack made it easier for me to choose styles during character creation because I know I can always change it later. On some characters I switch it regularly (for example going between a long, loose style most of the time and some type of pony tail for delves and other areas I think it would get in the way if it was loose, then a more formal style in town) and on others I'll keep the same one for ages and then swap it out and keep that for ages too.

But it's a lot easier to choose when it's not permanent, especially for the ones where I change it based on the situation. If I couldn't keep swapping I'd feel like I'd have to find something which makes sense as an 'all purpose' style, or fits their personality well enough that I could believe they'd never change it.

And as someone who actually has very long hair I would like more long hair styles for male toons.

I totally agree. I think ESO has only one long male hair style with just loose hair in the editor, and that isn't even that long. This one:

    That's just a little more than shoulder-length.

There are a few which are longer, but all have buns, braids and whatnot.

Yep, and I've seen much longer hair on female toons. I'd love to have the longer hairs on my toons.

Absolutely! When I started playing ESO, I treated myself to the hairstyle and adornment packs, only to discover that the majority of these cosmetics were unavailable for my character due to their race and gender. While I can understand why an Altmer cannot wear Argonian crests, I don't see why a male cannot wear certain circlets and earrings.

@ZOS_Adrikoth, while the relevant team is considering this feedback regarding hairstyles, please could they also take a look at the gender-based adornments?

    Much obliged.

Altmer have their crystal towers, and that's how they want to be — cold and perfect. And Dunmer are just like their Red Mountain — smouldering and dark. We just want to have a drink and not worry about it."

    Hey folks,

We wanted to reach out and let you know that we appreciate the feedback provided in this thread and it has been passed along to the proper team.

As @heaven13 brought up, only the hairstyles we originally launched with are like this, and all later hairstyles are gender-neutral. Future hairstyles will continue to be gender-neutral as well.

@ZOS_Adrikoth Not meaning to be a bother but any word on if we'll actually get the old hairstyles as gender neutral? If we do I've been checking the hair pack cause if we do I'll need to pick that one up so I can try on some more of the hairs on my toons.
