I'm hoping to get the Ring of the Wild Hunt. That'll put me at 100% movement speed in Mist Form which has me grinning so damn hard right now.

I don't want to wipe that grin of your face but how do you get to speed cap with that build in combat?

    Ring (swift), Steed, Major Exp(15+6, 10, 30) = 61
    + Minor Exp, 2 more Swift (10, 2x6) = 83

However, I tested the Ring for a while now and it's certainly fun, wouldn't want to miss it.

So. I finally found a playstyle I like on my magplar. I use Crafty Alfiq with a front bar damage set. Right now Julianos, Scathing Mage, Spinner's, Spell Strategiest, War Maiden, and Innate Axiom all work pretty well.

You back bar a Defending traited Potentates, or Death Wind Ice Staff. I slot the Psijic Order ulti and morph it for damage mitigation when slotted.

Vampirism stage 1 for Elusive Mist. This works so well in this meta. But I also use The Steed mundus stone to increase my health recovery, and for the additional movement speed.

At the moment I'm using Grothdarr as my monster set. I also like Slimecraw too but Grothdarr gives you max magicka. Even with all my jewelry using magicka recovery enchants, my damage is still melting people. I have 40K magicka in no-CP and almost 50K in CP. My spell damage fully buffed is almost 3500 with a 2h sword, and recovery is close to 1500. I also have rune and elemental drain slotted.

I don't know how people are able to kill any1 when wearing +stat sets mostly.
I'am trying to get full wep dmg/penetration for stamblade and damage still not that impressive unless iam camping some1 with shimmering frenzy on.

They're killing low def/low skill targets.

Those sets mentioned will not kill a good DK or Plar before the person runs out of sustain or gets countered.

I had was running 1400 sustain and 4.5k jabs, 5000+ spell dmg dps, but no defense, and if you get countered, its all over and your stuck on back bar 1v1. Unless you use a gimmick: kiting, line-of-sight, invis pots. If you get 1vx, you are definitely not surviving.

It's fun to kill the weaker targets, but not very satisfying.

Light Armor passives are really good. You get 4884 spell penetration, magicka cost reduction, magicka recovery, and extra spell critical(plus Templar crit passive).

With 3500+ spell damage and then the additional damage scaling off all that max magicka you're not going to hit like a noodle. Then you have Grothdarr proccing constantly. Between the CP allocation, light armor passives, and elemental drain I have 15k+ spell penetration. Especially in no-CP I "feel" the pressure I'm applying. And I crit frequently too.

What I had to get use to is relying on Elusive Mist for damage mitigation. I think it's super effective this patch because its a toggle. When you have a high magicka pool and the spell cost is between 800-1K per second; and you have over 50% movement speed its a no brainer. Like...you mitigate 75% damage in that form and move fast too.

The changes to gap closers help magplar with mobility little bit. But man...between the Steed, and Elusive Mist I'm loving it. And since I'm using an Ice Staff my stam pool is only used for mobility and breaking free with blocking consuming magicka. Honestly I'll give up the proc on Grothdarr for the Ring of the Wild Hunt to move even faster, because I hit hard regardless.

How are the most basic elements of a pvp game, movement, a "gimmick"?

Thanks for the correction. I was looking at the tooltip completely wrong and for some reason I read the 75% damage mitigation as movement speed(don't ask). But I had to do a double take.
