P2P Master Crafter Writs

I've thought about this idea before, and the more I think about it the more useful it could be.

The idea is that once you have reached the master crafter title/achievement, you would unlock a third tier of writs. Players could list the gear/furnishings they want crafting and the price they are willing to pay and then master crafters could take the writs, create the items and turn them in (possibly via Rolis). This would make crafting commissions so much easier than having to find players who can craft via zone chat/guild chat/discord/forums etc and then send mats via mail.

This could be a substantial source of income from those with the master crafter title, without having to search for requests and trust the players who may be randoms. It shouldn't add any inflationary value, since the price the gold is coming from another player and not being generated from the game. It would also add some immersion to the master writ system as you would be creating items people actually want rather than random items for non-existent NPCs.

It would also be good if you could do partial fulfillments, so those who can craft some of the requested items but not all would be able to get the gold for the items they can craft, rather than being prohibited by not being able to craft them all. e.g. someone has a big furnishing request and you can craft 9/10 of the requested items.

I would assume that the writs would have to have some sort of time limit, say 24 hours, to stop people from taking the writ and not completing them, or two people taking the same one. By requiring a master crafter title, it should deter people taking down the writs to grief, or new players taking them by mistake.

    Interesting idea, I like it.
It would also be good if you could do partial fulfillments, so those who can craft some of the requested items but not all would be able to get the gold for the items they can craft, rather than being prohibited by not being able to craft them all. e.g. someone has a big furnishing request and you can craft 9/10 of the requested items.

I think this would make it too complicated. Either per item or 5 item set would be ok. Also your suggestion might end up with one of the items always missing because it's not worth doing.
I would assume that the writs would have to have some sort of time limit, say 24 hours, to stop people from taking the writ and not completing them, or two people taking the same one. By requiring a master crafter title, it should deter people taking down the writs to grief, or new players taking them by mistake.

Agree. I would also add a commission that the game would take, so basically you would need to buy the writ first, say a static amount or percentage of reward. Otherwise there will be griefing.

Too much coding for them with less value.

I would rather see things like making gathering surveys easier and built-in Lazy Crafter functionality on consoles. Those would be "easier" since it would only involve a single player.

I would like to be able to research something another character I have knows, paying the mats to "make the item and then research it" rather than having to swap characters to do the same thing. This is especially painful with the login delays.

I see "This may be a long load time" far too often. (I already know it is long, foolish devs.)

It is an interesting idea, but generally players want their crafted stuff right away. This would create a time delay between the request and the fulfillment of the order. Most guildies expect their crafters to immediately drop what they are doing and craft things within minutes, or they envision those crafters sitting idle and springing into action when given a request.

Plus the coding aspects mentioned above.
