Can nightblade do anything besides "haha sneaky class"

Im trying to understand how im supposed to play my nigthtblade. In no cp, If i build tanky, I do like no damage compared to every other tanky class. If I build for dps, nightblade will just be the squishiest thing.... Am I missing something or do I just have to do the haha try to gank someone then run away thing? Everyone is so tanky I cant damage them at all but they can just nuke me. If i build for tankiness, I cant damage them but get outdamaged. Stealth seems to be the only thing I can do, not that that matters anymore, since all vampires will be able to go invisible. So basically nightblade wont even be the unique sneaky class, can be countered by 1 ability or detection potion, doesnt do enough damage against tanky noobs and is super squishy. What do I do?

The issue with nightblade is it used to be really powerful and you could make a good brawler blade and have a lot of fun even without stealth. But the thing is, you could be just as powerful with stealth as well so people complained (read cried, and cried, and cried), some justifiably so cause it was a little unbalanced. They tried to fix it here and there but the complaints kept coming and then we got the new combat team and in typical ZOS fashion instead of properly balancing the class, they hit it with nerf upon nerf, upon nerf, and even when you thought it couldn't get any worse, they nerfed it some more. They even turned around and nerf the alternative to cloak, dark cloak , the one that heals , just to make sure all you could do was run around in stealth and hope and pray you might find some unsuspecting fool who wasn't paying attention to gank. Literally excpet for ganking anything you can do with a nightblade can be done 20 times better on another class , and honestly, with invis potions, you can even gank better on other classes as well now. It's a sad, sad shell of it's former self.

Unfortunately I don’t play no cp, but im running New moon, spriggans, and chudan. As long as i keep shuffle, vigor, relentless, and dark cloak up with speed pots i can be pretty tanky and burst people down pretty quick. Shadow image is also great if you need to get out pretty quick without having to rely on cloak

I promise I read it but you can use shade and stay engaged in combat. You don't always think of streak as an escape do you? Repositioning tool that is stronger than cloak. You use it to stretch your opponents out and sort of create a ring around them. Forces people to sprint, use telegraphed gap closers, or resort to weak af range attacks. You use it to frustrate burst and to decide when to commit to your kill combos. It can be used in the context of a brawl. Lots of nbs do it all the time.

What? Im confused. First of all, I actually use shade every day in pvp.... Yes it helps me survive.. in CP.. Im 650 and I just spent 20 mins kiting cobra kai around a tower with it, but its too expensive for non cp and bgs mostly if you want to actually deal any damage and use it regularly.

Not sure what you're trying to say...
If you mean that nbs can use shade... yea?

I look at stamnb in any context as excellent single target pressure. I was suggesting maybe not cloaking at all. In bgs i rely on bombard, fear trap, dbos, and merciless. I try to get ahead of my group and mess up the enemy's discipline. Your advantage with shade is it is a one time cost if you're effective with it. Allowing you to juke and nuke without going full cluck mode which is What seems to be bothering you. Im not sure your build either. Although I feel you wrt stamblade in bgs BC they're so single target, but imo you need to look at yourself as the one responsible for creating flanking opportunity for your group.
Also don't sleep on power extraction for pushes. It's a nice debuff that can defile ...

Yes, it can be the haha damage avoidance and reduction class. The problem is that on live everyone is a tank and healer because of how the game is setup.

This game already has 6 yards detection abilities.
But developers decided to make 20(!) yards potion to hard counter nightblades and forcing them to change sneaky gameplay completely due to one cheap spammable potion out of balance.

You can not even see if opponent under its effect or not.

Play stamcro/stamden instead of Nb. Class got nerfed, pruned down so much and the defense is buggy right now. Just don't bother playing this class rn.
