ESO+ and the Crafting Bag

I don't plan on keeping ESO+

If I have, for an example, Iron Ingots in my crafting bag, Iron Ingots in my bank, and Iron Ingots in my inventory, and I go to craft an iron sword, what inventory area is prioritized? And is there a way to change the priority? Either through settings or a mod?

I'd prefer them to come from my bank first, inventory second, and crafting bag last.

It will never pull from your bank, it pulls either from your inventory or the crafting bag. Not sure which of those has priority though.

Hmmmmm... I was pretty sure that it does pull from the bank.

When I get home later tonight I'll have to playtest that.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

There exists an addon that pulls what you need from your bank without you having to search around for it and pull it out manually, but you still have to go to the bank and interact with the banker. You can't use something directly from your bank like you can your inventory.

It pulls from Inventory first, then the bank, then the Crafting Bag. You do not need to visit the banker to get materials in order to craft.

Of course you can pull manually from the Craft Bag, if you want.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

Wasn't it the other way around if you don't have ESO+ anymore? It empties your craftbag first so you run into inventory issues on purpose and feel inclined to sub again?

How the **** do you get it to pull from your bank? Because I have never been able to get that to happen automatically. Tips please.

Without add-ons and without ESO+ the game pulls from the crafting bag first.

It has always been prioritized to come from your crafting bag first and for the obvious reasons on incentivizing ESO+ I doubt it will change.

@Taleof2Cities seems to indicate there is an addon that can change that priority. Idk since I have only played with a subscription so I have not had to look for one.

Which add-on would this be? I really don't want to be forced to keep the sub up just to be able to craft. And yes I'm aware it's not 'required' to craft, it's just so useful that it would be obnoxious and off-putting without it.

There isn't an add-on that can prioritize where items come from. That is set by the game itself and the API can't change it. So yes, it pulls from your craft bag first once your ESO + has run out.

I recall comments on the ESOUI page for Lazy Writ Crafter where somebody asked @Dolgubon if his add-on could change the order and he gave a great answer explaining why the add-on could not. I wish I could find it, but I'm not searching through the 100 pages of comments on the add-on on the site. Maybe Dolgubon will be able to explain it again. (I also recall there was one exception... maybe glyphs?)
Tenacious Dreamer - Hurricane Herald - Godslayer - Dawnbringer - Gryphon Heart - Tick Tock Tormenter - Immortal Redeemer - Dro-m'Athra Destroyer
The Unchained - Oathsworn - Bedlam's Disciple - Temporal Tempest - Curator's Champion - Fist of Tava - Invader's Bane - Land, Air, and Sea Supremacy - Zero Regrets - Battlespire's Best - Bastion Breaker - Ardent Bibliophile - Subterranean Smasher - Bane of Thorns - True Genius - In Defiance of Death - No Rest for the Wicked - Nature's Wrath - Undying Endurance - Relentless Raider - Depths Defier - Apex Predator - Pure Lunacy - Mountain God - Leave No Bone Unbroken - CoS/RoM/BF/FH Challenger

For Glyphs and Alchemy, you are able to specify the exact item location to use an item from. So for those crafts, you can prioritize whichever bag to pull from. However, for all other crafts, addons (and the game's UI) only say what the want, and then the game internally decides where to pull those items from.

Note that for enchanting, Writ Crafter currently prioritizes bank > inventory > craft bag.

I'm also unaware of any addon which causes the UI in general to prioritize the bank/inventory.

When ESO+ stops, items are pulled from the crafting bag first.

ESO+ is like renting the crafting bag and double bank space. When you aren't paying anymore, you don't get to use the space anymore.

Bright side; items in the craft bag are still yours, and still accessible. They don't make items in the craft bag, or the "extra space" in your bank go "poof". You just can't add more until you get to the non-ESO+ limits. [Or the next ESO+ free event kicks in]
