The problem isn’t self healing, even these resistance nerfs aren’t going to fix anything the problem with this game is the fact that there is literally no major downside to group play and the changes made are only going to effect small scale players, forcing more small scalers to play in large groups. Off healing, group buffs and synergies are disgustingly over powered it is so painfully obvious to anyone who small scales, however ZOS doesn’t want to step on the toes of the vast majority of the PvP community who are zerglings and large group players who play for the social aspect and to farm AP and campaign rewards.More often than not you can drop any hard hitting aoe Ult like necro atro with 6k weapon damage on a group to see health bars not even move, thanks to 1 templar popping practiced incantation and the half a dozen templar circles, warden spores, bogdan totems and earthgores that these groups collectively have 100% uptime on. This goes on everywhere from the final emp keep to people playing in the sewers.
The reality is the vast majority of players are PVE players primarily and PvP players second who they believe that they do not need to dedicate the time and effort to improve as a solo or small scale player when they can get on their 60k health pariah, plauge doctor siege tank with rapids and siege barrier Slotted, these players are capable of literally walking out of a keep and burning siege with 0 risk of them dying most of the time. ZOS have no problem of saying “you know what your >10k rotation-less dps is not finishing vet cloudrest +3 back to normal scrub” but take the opposite approach to the collective of equally skilled PvPers with “hey keep rotating those defensive healing uts on your tanks, eventually the other group will get over it or disconnect and you win! “
ZOS needs to simply make grouping significantly less benefits other than the combination of the groups damage output, limit group buffs, heals and synergies to a max of 3 other people, Encourage small group and solo play, otherwise the game will continue to devolve in to nothing but max sized groups running dedicated, healers, tanks and bombers whilst small scale will be a thing of the past.
