Please help me regarding doing daily writs on multiple characters

So during this event I've been leveling alot of alts, which is both nice and worrying.

Why I say worrying, is because I do daily writs on them all for a nice little income. But when they reach level 50 they'd usually get more high level mats than low level mats, leaving me forced to either buy low level mats off market or max them all out in material using at least.

What is the best way to do it when you are running a lot of alts? My main almost never find low level mats, so at some point I will run out of mats for my other characters.

Should I sink time in getting enough skill points to max all material usage on my alts? Or is there a better solution?

long term. max level writs are the way to go. much more profit.

for the event. If you're doing level 1 writs, they are self sufficient for that character (for cloth/ww/smithing and very closely for jewelry)
Tenacious Dreamer - Hurricane Herald - Godslayer - Dawnbringer - Gryphon Heart - Tick Tock Tormenter - Immortal Redeemer - Dro-m'Athra Destroyer
The Unchained - Oathsworn - Bedlam's Disciple - Temporal Tempest - Curator's Champion - Fist of Tava - Invader's Bane - Land, Air, and Sea Supremacy - Zero Regrets - Battlespire's Best - Bastion Breaker - Ardent Bibliophile - Subterranean Smasher - Bane of Thorns - True Genius - In Defiance of Death - No Rest for the Wicked - Nature's Wrath - Undying Endurance - Relentless Raider - Depths Defier - Apex Predator - Pure Lunacy - Mountain God - Leave No Bone Unbroken - CoS/RoM/BF/FH Challenger

Is max level writs the sealed master ones that drops?

I'm just doing writs in general for gold earning each day, event or not.

Should I, when time being, level them all up in at least the usage of materials?

no, max level writs just means you're doing them using CP150 materials (10/10 in the "level" skill line for enchanting/ww/cloth/smithing, 5/5 for jewelry, and 6/6 for alchemy/provisioning)

It happens to be the only way you can get master writs is by doing them at that level.

If you're doing them long term. I'd suggest that you spend the time to get them to maximum level, since the major profit in writs is not from the daily gold, but from the gold level improvement materials that drop, which is much more likely to happen at max level.

If you need, transfer some of your surveys to the low level, low-crafting alt, and go pick up jute and so on, on those - aaand youre set :)

OH! Remember to extract those mats on your highly crafting chars, so you get the full benefit of extractions :) Then once processed, writ on dem newbies ;)

Not if you're getting a new writter for the box, box content will most likely be worth more *at the moment* then the mats, but after this event, you'll have em started, then check out what each level mats is selling for, go for the most valuable (even doing that now would get you rich cause alot has chars with 2 pts in cloth 4 in wood, 7 in blacksmithing and 3 in JC.)

AFTER this event, always keep a char for harvesting the higher priced mats, it's not the top one anymore... It's a balance, for this event, use your surveys on the newbies if they're low. after, use surveys on the maxed, for writ-works, and when you think you got enough for a bit, if nesc. rescpec so you have at least one char that is devoted to harvesting the *rare* mats ;):)<3

    Hope it made sense :D

I'm sorry, but this is not the way to make the most profit from doing daily writs.

A majority of the profit from doing daily writs is from the gold improvement materials that drop (Dreugh Wax, Rosin, Tempering Alloy, Chromium/Zircon). These have a significantly higher drop rate doing max level writs.

The increase drop rate is much, much, more valuable than the mid-tier materials that you can get on a character. Which, you will still get since they max tier drop "lower" level materials.

You also lose out on master writs, which you can sell for extra gold, or do them and sell items from the writ voucher vendor.

For the purposes of the event, if you're not going to do crafting regularly, do them at level 1 for the boxes. If you're trying to make profit in the long run, you do writs at maximum level, and maximum level only. (I've done the math, along with other major crafters!!!)

Yes, correct. Max level writs have FAR AND AWAY the highest profit margin of any writ level.

Instead of selling the items with intricate traits, I suggest that each of your characters that obtains them to deconstruct them to quickly level up. Sell the jewelry intricate items in guild store for cash but all others let your characters decon them to level up the particular skill.

*NOT DURING THIS EVENT!* After, yes, but not right now, make a lvl 1 crafter/writter, and get ALOT more then you would have otherwise, use it as an opportunity to get a writter-system going.

First, use your usual writters, make sure they have their stuff. Then, writ certify every newbie you can, use the surveys on those chars, extract with your max extract crafters, let newbie writters use that, collect more boxes. Hoard ALL the gear you get for decon on the newbie chars with most skills (gotta skyshardhunt a bit to be able to put skillpoints in their craft, but do that AFTER event), then go for it, max em out, for all the lovely surveys and stuff, but right now, just start em up for the box.

(But, untill theyre maxed, keep em craftlevel 1, but able to writ, later /In-between mats are expensive as im trying to say - Do NOT waste points between craft level 1 to 10 DURING this event, it will be way cheaper, and way more profitable...)

I got all my alts to max level clothing/blacksmithing/woodworking and leave the others unleveled. I still do them every day but it’s the gold mats from those three I’m after. Jewelry is also great to get to max but in my experience it takes longer to level than the other skills so I’m still chipping away at it years later. I haven’t been too worried about it since I make all the gold I need with ten level 50s with max level equipment crafting.

I make a ton of money from jewelry myself. I highly recommend purchasing a few cheap intricates to push your characters to 50 :)

Sorry for asking a few weeks after you posted this but I found speed leveling jewelry easier than equipment. Just curious how long did it take you to level up the 10 alts on tailoring, woodworking and blacksmithing?

For every craft except jewellery and clothing I would max to 50 as well as skill. You should have plenty of wood and ore for cp 150 gear. With jewelry and clothing I would wait till you get a good supply chain going for silk and platinum. Do all of your surveys on your leveled guy to build up your silk and platinum then level the skills of your unleveled toons. If you are gonna be dedicated to doing your daily writs on many toons then you also need to take the time for farm mats and do your surveys. Also level all hireling skills to 3 so everyday you get stuff. Also there is nothing wrong with having some toons that are only leveled to 50 but only level 1 skill. If you try making platinum and silk goods every day on 18 toon you may run out of those mats.

Also i leveled my storage capacity first on my alts so I had enough inventory space to precraft all the daily writ items for the week ahead. Then all you have to do is log into your alts, pick up the writs then turn them in.

I leveled them by farming mobs on.my way to up to L50. You will get close to max on crafting doing that. Feeding your alts Intricates from crafting writs helps. Finally, you can buy intricates for decon. On PC NA, i sell them for around 150 gold each.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I am actually not sure since I just did it over time without trying to rush. It took me a year or so to set up my account the way I wanted but intricate gear sells pretty cheaply if you have some gold to spend to get started faster. I would just deconstruct all the intricate gear I got from writs and it added up pretty fast over time. :)

Otherwise, what Nestor said works great. Basically you will get tons of gear on your way to level 50 and even normal non-intricate gear adds up fast if you deconstruct everything that crosses your path.

Thanks for the info nestor and bellatrix. I'm building some of the 18 characters to be playable and the decon gear is slowly trckling down. Have 6 characters with max clothing, blaksmithing and woodworking now. Seems like it would only take a month or two to trickle down to all.

Not optimal, but a method for lazier daily writs after I burned through cp160 mats too quickly:

If you like to use lots of crafted/overland/base game sets to take the place of 'meta' ones that you can't be bothered to farm, I would do crafting dailies with level 1 crafting. It gives poor but lazy income by itself and you earn enough mats from just turning them in to continue doing them without buying low level mats from stores. On top of that, the high level mats taken from collecting surveys on a max crafter can be kept for other things. Need more gold? Use the mats to craft and sell gear or sell them raw. Need mats? Refine and keep them in your crafting character's inventory. I still do daily crafting with 2 of my characters who have max crafting for the chance of dropping master crafting writs. Requires some investment in buying low level mats if you don't have stacks in ESO plus craft bag. Also assumes you aren't after many master writs.
