long term. max level writs are the way to go. much more profit.
for the event. If you're doing level 1 writs, they are self sufficient for that character (for cloth/ww/smithing and very closely for jewelry)

Is max level writs the sealed master ones that drops?
I'm just doing writs in general for gold earning each day, event or not.
Should I, when time being, level them all up in at least the usage of materials?

no, max level writs just means you're doing them using CP150 materials (10/10 in the "level" skill line for enchanting/ww/cloth/smithing, 5/5 for jewelry, and 6/6 for alchemy/provisioning)
It happens to be the only way you can get master writs is by doing them at that level.
If you're doing them long term. I'd suggest that you spend the time to get them to maximum level, since the major profit in writs is not from the daily gold, but from the gold level improvement materials that drop, which is much more likely to happen at max level.

Isn't it worth more having my main getting high level mats though?

Not if you're getting a new writter for the box, box content will most likely be worth more *at the moment* then the mats, but after this event, you'll have em started, then check out what each level mats is selling for, go for the most valuable (even doing that now would get you rich cause alot has chars with 2 pts in cloth 4 in wood, 7 in blacksmithing and 3 in JC.)
AFTER this event, always keep a char for harvesting the higher priced mats, it's not the top one anymore... It's a balance, for this event, use your surveys on the newbies if they're low. after, use surveys on the maxed, for writ-works, and when you think you got enough for a bit, if nesc. rescpec so you have at least one char that is devoted to harvesting the *rare* mats
Hope it made sense

So for optimal profit I should invest a little time getting the skill points so all my chars use high level mats.
I make a ton of money from jewelry myself. I highly recommend purchasing a few cheap intricates to push your characters to 50bellatrixed wrote: »I got all my alts to max level clothing/blacksmithing/woodworking and leave the others unleveled. I still do them every day but it’s the gold mats from those three I’m after. Jewelry is also great to get to max but in my experience it takes longer to level than the other skills so I’m still chipping away at it years later. I haven’t been too worried about it since I make all the gold I need with ten level 50s with max level equipment crafting.

Sorry for asking a few weeks after you posted this but I found speed leveling jewelry easier than equipment. Just curious how long did it take you to level up the 10 alts on tailoring, woodworking and blacksmithing?
