Rebuilt my database multiple times, power cycled, switched to digital copy of eso because even putting the disc in caused it to crash, etc. What finally worked was going into safe mode then clicking the update system software option. There's apparently some kind of bug where the ps4 doesn't properly install the latest system update or something, and it causes this error to happen. Have had no issues since, hopefully this works for you too!

That did absolutely nothing, still the same issue and ONLY with ESO. Crashed right away after looking at the game.
It actually made it worse that I uninstalled and reinstalled, if the game is out of a folder, I start to lag and crash if I even hover over the game now.
Yes, I, too, am having this issue, OP. Odd thing is, it started a few days after Update 25 was installed (along with 2.01).
Game seems to run fine once it's launched, but God forbid you scroll over the icon on the PS4's homescreen. It will lag the machine somehow, causing it to stutter. The actual launch process is slow as molasses, too, and you risk freezing your PS4 if you try to accept a PSN group chat invite while in ESO.
I've rebuilt my database, deleted ESO's local prefs and more, but the issue still persists.
This isn't cool, ESO. Please fix this, because if a game starts messing with my $400 PS4 Pro, I tend to get really defensive really quick.

This only happens if I go to ESO app, hit dpad down to where overview is, and then it begins. I have tested this by starting up ps4, going to every single game and looking at the overview, every time I get to ESO is when it starts, none of the other games do this. I don't know what happened during install, but this is funked up. I saw on FB group someone mentioned something similar too, anyone else having this issue?? I have no issues in other games, I've mentioned in other threads that my performance has improved, but this is just something else...

Have you held down the power button on the PS4 and have the system rebuild the database / defrage it? I do this after any game does an update on my system and I rarely have issues.

Honestly, ZOS, this needs to be looked into and fixed as quickly as possible! Lagging in game is one thing - but once a game starts to negatively affect the whole system, just because it's installed on it, there is something seriously wrong and this is not acceptable! Will definitely uninstall permanently, if this doesn't revert back to normal very soon!
