As an indie game developer, I have noticed a mechanic that has been left totally unused, jumping.
MMORPGs like Guildwars have embraced the jumping puzzles. With the context of ESO,
climbing has been part of the self-directed exploration.
You are probably aware videos of people clitching out of bounds to explore and climbing to Red Mountain
(yes, I have managed that). Mostly the intention by devs has been plug all of the holes, which has created
some are really limiting invisible boundaries at times.
Example: There exists a mountain between Rift Wisplight Glen and Fort Greenwall. The player can reach
the place with an easy jump. In the middle of the mountain top exists a rune as dev placed pat to the back.
The added bonus with these kinds of locations is that roleplayers could use these places without
fear of getting trolled. Likewise, the upper area of Fort Greenwall can be reached from this mountain,
but it is just a shallow prop. It would be nice to see some minor development in the old areas,
either part of the upcoming artifact hunt or otherwise.
Climbing related gameplay would be rather easy to develop. It would breathe new life to old areas as it opens
up previously inaccessible locations. It would provide extra service for roleplayers who make their
own content anyway and open up new possibilities to new line achievements.
