I thought to maybe get back to ESO, but before subscribing decided to set client up for any case... and seems that was right decision - downloaded game, and started to dig through mods... and this is part where it gets really annoying - every time I get back to ESO list of mods gets longer and configuring it all more and more problematic. I already made list of over 60 addons and have not finished yet (not even mentioning that it cant impact performance in positive way). That seriously makes me think maybe just uninstall and stick to games where developers is competent enough to create good UI at least?
Is that really that hard to spare a bit time to include many basic features that modders has to create mods for?
No, I am not joking - UI is something player will have to interact with 100% of play time (unlike some silly generic dungeon nr. 19884)

They have already made lots of the addon stuff part of the base ui over the years.

The ESO UI is probably the best out of any MMO out there right now, that does not even take into account that there are third party add-ons to tailor it to any preference. It is immersive and uncluttered and then you can take it in any direction.
FFXIV is ok and WoW is terrible.

Which mods do you think should be included in the base game?

Even allowing for duplicates there's a lot more than 60 mods and without knowing which ones you're using and consider important it's not much for the devs to go on, even if they want to implement your suggestion. (Which isn't out of the question, buff trackers and subtitles are two examples of things which started as mods and then were added to the base game.)

They have made a few addons part of the game in their own way, but only a few. At that, many of us still prefer the buff/debuff trackers from addons vs how Zos implemented it.

For the most part, yes, we still use addons and we can pretty much expect Zos to maintain a minimalist UI. I doubt they have plans for an overhaul.

strong dissagree. WoW UI is fantastic especially with what they allow addon creators to change through their API. I can see how it can seem a bit messy however and takes a lot of setting up to get right, but that is part of the symptom of the complexity of the games controls compared to more streamlined games (say, ones that where designed to work on consoles...)

It would be nice for a bit of a cleanup. The inventory is a particular pain point for me, 200 items either in an ungainly list, or a guess-which-item-is-which grid of icons with the addon.

Everything else I can get good enough with mods, Skyrim UI mod cleans up the "grime" textures a bit, action buttons, resource bars, some cast/stun-state notifiers and you have something a little more modern.

I don’t expect a major UI overhaul in the foreseeable future, if ever.

I would like to see the ability to split stacks while in the banker screen, and the ability to switch among bank functions without leaving the banker interface.
