Clockwork City Lag

Hi everyone,

I am somewhat new to this game and currently doing quests in Clockwork City. I noticed when in combat mode, I am always lagging. I tried going to another region / map (Deshaan, Eastmarch, etc) and I didn't experience any lag at all in combat mode. Is it just me?

Are you only experiencing lag while in Clockwork City?

Have you tried testing combat with different characters in the zone?

Is this frame rate lag you are experiencing or are you getting a delay when performing actions?

Yep, only in Clockwork City.

I just have that one character

Only when performing actions, during combat mode. Walking and running seems alright.

I am now in Craglorn and I experience the same thing whenever in combat and performing actions

I have tried the recommended solutions (Restarted and power cycle the console) however I haven't tried to re-install the game. I noticed this started after the Elsweyr update.

Before resorting to a full reinstall, sometimes clearing local save data can help improve performance.

1. Go to Games.
2. Highlight The Elder Scrolls Online tile and press the [Menu] button of the controller.
3. Select Manage Game.
4. Highlight and select Save Data for the desired user.
5. Select Delete.
6. You'll be prompted to confirm deletion of this game save data:
   • Choose "Delete Everywhere" This will remove your saved data from this console, the cloud, and all other consoles you play on

I have tried clearing local save data (smile size), but the problem still persists. I created a new character (same server), still experience lagging during combat mode, when mount /unmounting, voice/sound not synching, some NPCs and it's quest indicator icons (on top of it's head) were not showing until after 2-3 seconds I got close to it and delay in performing actions.

Last night I still managed to level up though using my first character but I died a few times because I couldn't see where enemies and monsters were located. In combat, my health bar delayed in showing my current health, and noticed only when it went down to 3k from 12k...

The lag you've described sounds like it is connection related. You should try clearing the Mac address to see if that will improve your performance.

You can clear the Mac Address on your console by following the steps below:

1. Press Start at the main Xbox One menu.
2. Navigate to Settings.
3. Select Network Settings, Advanced Settings, Alternative Mac Address, and finally Clear.
4. Restart and shut down the Xbox One. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the console and wait two minutes.
5. Once the two minutes have passed, plug the power back in and wait for the power bricks light to go from white to orange.
6. When the light switches to orange, reboot the console and try the game again.

Dude lag is most probably because game has bad performance. Just check this forum recent topics and you will understand.

I've tried your suggestion but nothing has changed. I tested my connection and it's a good connection at around 80 to 90mbps. But I saw the patch maintenance notice so I will update again after that. Thank you

Hi @LiraTaurwen. I figured they are many issues after the Elsweyr update but I'm still new at this game and this is the first time I encounter an issue. Maybe the solutions provided could solve mine so it doesn't hurt to try
