Exemplary Swift Jewelry

Okay, Summerset has officially been out over a year now... And I do daily writs on MANY characters. I still have NEVER received a Swift ring or necklace in my jewelry rewards and steadily more and more characters over that year were doing top-tier writs.

I know they were available last summer, some very lucky few got them and learned them and started to make ones for the rest of us to research. BUT, has anyone gotten a swift jewelry trait as a writ reward in the past 10 months or so? Or did they vanish at some point?

Am I really just that unlucky at top-tier jewelry writs on over a dozen characters daily? Or are they broken?

I got one last week. Tho I was surprised, I'm doing writs on my 13 characters and that was the first time I got swift jewelry.

I got one some time ago - about a week or so. I think it came out of a psijic portal, but I'm not sure.

I received a Swift necklace the very first week the Summerset patch dropped. Since then, however, I’ve only gotten maybe 3-4 jewelry pieces through writs.

I have a lot better luck looting Infused jewelry from the Psijic portals.

Out of a psijic portal would be the infused, not swift. Swift comes from daily jewelry writ rewards. But thanks for the response.

From the answers so far it does sound like a desert from about 10 months ago until very recently. So if something was wrong perhaps they silently fixed it with a recent patch (maybe the one that fixed surveys as that also was based in the writ system loot table?) or with Elsweyr's release.

    Thanks for the responses @mertusta & @Taleof2Cities

I'll admit that I'm doing writs on 15 characters daily, but I've gotten 3 swift necklaces and 2 swift rings at least in the p-ast month....it just is the luck of the draw, I think....the number of characters I'm doing it on might help, too.
(and most of them are using maxed jewelry crafting, primarily for the added benefit of the gold grains).

Still none for me. At one point I was doing writs on 11 NA characters.

You've gotten all that in the past month but others doing it on at least that many characters for over a year have seen none? I sure hope that means it was fixed in the past month and I might soon see some!

I got 3 last week but I run 15 crafters. It’s all RNG coupled with learned traits and crafting level achieved.

I've had all jewelry traits researched and running 15 crafters almost every day (missed perhaps 2 or 3 days) for over a year. I actually have run up to 40 characters at festival times and on other rare occasions, as I have multiple accounts, but usually only run them on my main account.

I can't believe RNG has been that bad for that long if there wasn't an issue if 3/week has been an actual drop rate! But again you mention some only very recently -- so perhaps a fix was made without a patch note while they were in the writ loot tables recently?

Never got any on my grand master craftier in the year following jewelry crafting that I did writs every day. Bless those guys who sold crafted ones, otherwise I never would have been able to even learn the trait.
I am mostly pleased with the current state of ESO. Please do continue to ban cheaters though and you guys have to find out who is duping gold and how because the economy is currently non-functional.

Think I have sold about 10 exemplary swift pieces a mix of rings and necklaces since I started playing back in December last year.

Not very common drop rate, usually get other traits instead, but now I do writs on 18 max level characters with all crafts maxed out, so seeing it a bit more often now.

I'm starting to think it only drops for characters that don't need it.

If knowing all traits is the only way to learn a new one, how do you get started?

Rng is really bad for some... I picked up my 1st swift jewelry piece months after Summerset was released, by the time I already had research all the traits on my main char. It's easier and faster to ask a friend or a guild mate to craft one in order to you to research the trait.

I got one swift ring about 2 or so months after launch, but didn't see a necklace. A friend offered to make one for me if I supplied the trait stone. After that, I did get a necklace, lol, which I gave to my spouse since he hadn't learned it yet either. I also gave him the next swift ring I got, with the promise that he'd return the favor and give me the next swift necklace and ring for an alt to learn. He hasn't gotten either yet, though, but he mains on PC.

I have, over the past few months gotten another swift ring to learn and just got a necklace last week, so I've got one alt to learn the trait.

They are rare, but I'm only doing top tier JC writs on 4 characters now, and not even every day, as it takes so long to do them on console, and I'm trying to get through all the Elsweyr content.

I do max jewelry writs on 17 toons a day now and I get a couple exemplary swift pieces a month. Maybe as high as 4 or 5 some months. The drop rate is extremely low. I suspect it is by design and that most people are intended to get research pieces from those lucky enough to pull one. The trait stones have no rarity at all. You just need writ vouchers and you have an endless supply so no bottleneck on that end at least.

It's similar to nirnhoned. Nobody was ever intended to get all their nirnhoned pieces naturally. The intention right from the start was to acquire research pieces from others.

They are very very rare. I think I've gotten 2 or 3 since Summerset came out.

@ghastley you either buy it or get someone to craft it for you. If you have the trait material you can get someone to craft it for free in your guild(s).

I estimate the drop rate to be ~0.5%, considering I do max tier jewelry writs on 15 characters and only see one every couple of weeks or so. It's by far the rarest trait.

It's similar to nirnhoned. Nobody was ever intended to get all their nirnhoned pieces naturally. The intention right from the start was to acquire research pieces from others.

With Nirnhoned, there was a bootstrap piece, obtained by doing the Craglorn quest-line, that gave people a single trait to trade from, and then the crafting sustained it. If Swift only drops at Master level, then nobody would get the first one to begin the process. My question was where the bootstrap items come from. Hopefully it's a case of Swift dropping a bit short of master level.

It may be that there was a way earlier, that has been closed down now that there are enough on the market.

I just got my very first piece of exemplary swift jewelry on Tuesday, after almost a year of doing max-level jewelry writs (admittedly only on one toon). I was surprised, to say the least. At this point I'd kinda started to think they might be a myth :o

Max level jewelcraft writs have a chance to drop swift jewelry. You don't need any traits learned in order to access this. All you need is level 50 jewel crafting as well as platinum level passive to do the highest level daily writs.

I was trying to buy some nirnhoned wood stuff this weekend and I could only find it in one place out of the 5 or 6 places I checked: Mournhold. It was ironically all priced at 23K gold. And I thought the guild vendor system was supposed to stop price fixing.

That was on the PS4 EU server. I regularly find such pieces on the PS4 NA server for <15K when I need them (past few months) with lots of price variation.

I agree with the idea of buying trait items from guild vendors, but finding one that has it at a reasonable price may be a big challenge.
