Dunno if this already been talked before. If so, my apologies.
So, I pvp mostly from DC, and I went to IC farm some telvars and, besides whole areas are blue (indicating there are fellow companions here), when I said in zone chat if someone wants to group, no one answered. Alright, they didn't have to pug, I understand, so I start chasing bosses and after some time, find one surrounded by around 4 players. I joined the fight and after chatting with one of them, I discovered that telvar drops from bosses scalles with the number o players: if solo killed, around 14k, if 2 players, around 7k, and so on. Now makes sense to me: ppl don't wanna to group because less telvar drops.
Then I duo with this guy and we start chasing other bosses, but it was hard to find any of them. After some time, we find a trio where one of them was a tank, then he taunts the big bosses from the main road to inside of those buildings near them, at some corner. After some time following the same path as this trio, they found a way to fool us, disapearing then regrouping in another place. So the struggle to find bosses alive start again.
This makes me think: what if they did do this to prevent pugs from finding the boss, so they keep the whole telvar for themselves?
If so, besides I think this is pretty stupid, I could understand the reason. This kind of drop implemented by ZoS only incentivates the solo playing on a pvp/pve mixed area, where bosses are a bit tougher than overland and you "should" run a pvp/pve mixed gear (good for both aspects, optimized for none of them) to not die to mobs or enemy players. Even if you choose optimize only one side (pvp or pve), this doesn't change the situation.
Could ZoS implement a flat value for telvar drops like, i.e., "up to 12 players killing a boss, 2k telvar for each" if more than 12 players, 1k for each... or make bosses more harder so even duos/trios struggle to kill them, like a "mini trial" boss level maybe, forcing ppl to group... something that discourage selfish behavior from players inside their own faction.
I can solo most of those bosses (besides I still struggle with the banners and that big-eye that spins towards you XD), but its kinda sad this lack of fellowship in a faction war hehehe.
What do you guys/girls think?
