I am just not sure which yet, but either way they are getting annoying.
It's different people posting these threads which shows a common theme, they're not happy with faction locks. The poll created also showed the majority don't want it.
The issue raised in this thread is also entirely legitimate, it destroys the story behind the game having different factions in the same dungeon.
Perhaps different people.. or the same people on different accounts. I personally have 7 accounts (don't judge me, the base game was 10$, I couldn't resist).. and I needed the storage!!
They are doing all this screaming and yelling and they haven't even seen how it's going to pan out. And yes, I know there were faction locks before.. but the faction lock is only for 30 days at a time. If they want to switch sides, they can.. at the end of the current campaign.
The Devs said this was an experiment.. not something laid in stone. All I can say is.. Buck up, Buttercup..
No, firstly, these aren't the same person, I know many of them. Put the tin foil away.
Secondly, why should I suck it up? Why should I be told how to play? This is a forum to express my views, and I will continue to. It doesn't affect me, I play DC only, but it affects my friends.
Sorry, you're right about the suck it up comment.. it was out of line. I actually edited it out of the original post, but not before you quoted it. I didn't actually mean you specifically, (though it seemed that way).
I'm just saying that there are likely (just a guess), just as many people who do want a faction lock as those who don't. A poll on the forums is informative, but by no means represents all the player base (either way for or against it). I'm constantly amazed at just how many people do not read the forums.
I have little doubt that people who routinely flip the map on one faction and then login to a different faction and flip it again are not happy.. and.. I'm not saying those are the people who are posting.. just saying map flippers can't be too "happy" right now.
There's really not as many people who flip the map in directions as is made out, especially on the main campaign Vivec. They simply don't have that sort of influence. Those people who genuinely try to save PVP from one faction dominating, to keep it healthy, who play on the weaker faction, they do it to help, not to earn AP. AP is so worthless, I don't understand why people think that's a primary reason to PVP anymore. They could lock Shor if they really wanted an RP campaign, see how it turned out.
That might be true, but we don't have the numbers to say either way.. but the Devs must have numbers where they possibly see X person on X faction in let's say, Vivec and then next thing they look, and X is on X faction in Vived flipping back what they just took on the other faction.. and if that is true, it's possibly happening enough that the Devs feel it's time to step in and prevent that.
And if there are as many altruistic people changing from faction to faction to help the underdog.. I sure wish I knew who they were so I could whisper them and ask them to come over to DC's side when DC is gated and there looks to be almost no DC on Vivec. Where are they then? Is there like a bat signal or something we can use to say S.O.S?
It's just my personal opinion, but what I see when I play in Vivec (not all the time, but often), is that it seems like people have switched to the winning side because they want to be on the winning side (which also more typically has the most people playing at that time).
I highly doubt who flips what on which character is being tracked by develoeprs
They barely have resources for patches so they most likely don't have time to make such tools.
What they do have is a database that stores information about your equipment and currency, but not the source of it.
