Rookie questions need advice

Piwi2point0
Fellow ESO-players!

So I’m a lv10 Dragon Knight and I’m in need of pots and food. Is it best to make those by yourself? If yes what do I need and what are the requirements? Could someone answer my questions in short and refer me to the right topic(link). I don’t seem to find a right guide for me.🖖
As I’m not rich and dont have good gear, I assume it’s best to buy it. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Kind regards,
Knight Piwi

At level 10 your stats should be scaled up enough that you dont "need" food. But for potions, anything that is dropped in overland content would suffice.

    Here's a good guide for potions- http://benevolentbowd.ca/games/esotu/eso-alchemy-reagents-solvents-recipes/

That site also has good guides for provisioning and just about everything else in game.

just pick some food (fruit) up that increases your main stat that you use. in the beginning it will be magicka. they last for half an hour, but can be found everywher,e just make sure you dont get a bounty stealing

Throughout most of the leveling process, your ability to craft food and pots will not be equal to your level. For example, you may be at level 35 on your character but have only invested skill points to be able to make potions or food for a level 10 character. But things you pick up will scale to your level. For that reason I didn't make things for my first character while leveling up. I used what I found, bought things, or asked guildmates to make them (and supplied the materials). Once you have leveled your crafting lines on one character it's easier to supply your lower level characters with the things they need. But it takes time to get that first character where you want it.

honestly --- you can level provisioning to 50 in like an hour.

there are also certain foods that work regardless of level .

add me on xbox live --- when i get home tonight i will make you a bunch of any food you need and give you a few recipes and the ingredients to level your provisioning to 50 .

on a side note--- there is a public dungeon in reapers march or malabol tor called " the vile manse " *--- the two floors of the house are packed with ingredients and there is a cooking fire in the kitchen --- loot the house --- make every recipe you have in the kitchen, then go into the cellar, which is a load screen, and that reloads the house so you can loot it again --- this is how i first power leveled mine --- took about 2 hours doing it this way.

TBH, unless I'm going to solo group content, or participate in actual group content I don't use food or drinks. Nothing in the solo story game is hard enough to need it. However, it is, as others have said, easy to level provisioning. Certain delves have a huge # of containers you can loot for materials which can be plenty to quickly grind up and get whatever level of food/drink you need access to.

I will give my opinion. For your 1st question. No, atleast not the Food. Basically alchemy can be needed to up because most potion have a duration of 2min, maybe 5min with passives, so you gotta to have alot and you run out fast depend on how you use, so if you can do that it would be amazing, by time you will have a lot of ingredients and Alchemy is relative easy to up (Today i up, from 4-50, in 2h, 15k gold but it's 50 now)

But now comes the thing i don't think provisioning is actually useful, basically to buy normal food (Blue or Purple) it costs less then 20K to have 200, maybe a max of 30K and it takes 2H to the buff go out (Even the passives are not needed), so for me i can stay 6 months just with that 200 that i bought earlier, depend on how many time you play, you can stay easily a year with that 200 you bought. And for the second part, level up Provisioning is boring, getting mats is terrible, i really don't like or need it

That's my opinion, hope it helps you

I prefer to just buy food and/or drinks from a Guild Store on all my leveling characters. You should also get some food from the Level Up Rewards and from your Daily Log In rewards.

    My preferred food/drinks are:
For Stamina - Dubious Camoran Throne
For Magicka - Witchmothers' Potent Brew.

Those give max health, max stam/magicka and max stam/mag recovery. Additionally, they are Holiday foods so they are leveled to your character, meaning you never outlevel them or have to swap to a higher level recipe. They are commonly used, so you shouldn't have trouble finding them for sale in guild stores.
