play a hybrid race, there are more than enough skillpoints in this game to switch playstyle easily.

you only have to reallocate Attributes and CP and you can swap how you want to

As I said, I don't want to waste my fellow group members' time by using a subpar race or build.

Also don't forget that this would help a lot with the dungeon queue times too! If you could sign up with all 3 roles, and change to the appropiate soul after you got teleported into the dungeon.

You are stating that what you want is that your choice should matter.
If you think that, you do not understand.

    I want -choices- to matter.

Not mine specifically, but -choices- in general, in this game.

But for choices to matter, they have to have consequences to these choices.

If players have to -choose- between optimizing their character one way or the other, or going with a hybrid setup that is decent at all, yet excels at none, those are the choices that should matter.

If players can have a system where they can choose to specialize in -everything- and then just switch from one specializatiopn to another... what choice is there?
Only to use this system and specialize in everything, or... what? Never be competetive again?

Yeah, you said it there - THAT is the "choice" you want to leave anyone who would not like such a system???

Because when -everyone- can specialize, the developers will have to adjust the content for specialized characters, meaning everyone who does not specialize like that will find things more difficult in PvE, face the ridicule of their group for daring not to be super-effective even moreso then today and get laughed out of PvP... (and wou know the discussions are already there "F*ckin noob, get out of battlegrounds", or "yer useless, never PvP again", or "...come back when you git gud", or "delete your accout and your life", etc. - strangely enough, they never seem to mind when these people are on the enemy side, huh?)

There is this marketing sentence for eso "Play how you want". Well, that is what I would like to do. Play as a healer, or a dps, or a tank in group PVE content on the same char...
...so you do not have to spend more effort to build up alts for that?
    Well, duh!
That's what the gimme crowd always says after all!
"I want it all without extra effort!!!"
And that is the ray of hope for me... because allowing this would mean ZOS looses profits from people alting, and turning to the crown store when they get vexed by the extra effort!
Thus I can hope the powers that be will be loath to introduce such mechanics into ESO...

Of course, I have not even touched on the roleplayer perspective of characters that ought to be limited in their setup as befitting their backstory instead of changing to suit the situation.
I mean, imagine how boring it would be if, say, a superhero in a story just invented whatever powers they needed to win the day, changing strangths and weaknesses wildly from every issue... (not that this does not happen anyhow in some cases).

It is the same vexation I have with everyone being able to join every guild, I personally would have preferred some "either-or" choices there (and keep hoping they might someday refit this)

See, for a good story, there should be limitations on the characters instead of someone being the "Mary Sue" that excels at -everything-. And that includes roleplaying stories. Still, not everyone who plays ESO is a roleplayer, so... I do not often argue from that point of view entirely.

As I mentioned earlier too, I am not asking for more choice / less restrictions. Everything is already implemented into the game(cp change, race change etc), but we have to spend some time, gold and/or crowns in order to change them. I would like to have more streamlined / user friendly experience with the Soul Slot system.
So... you DO whant the effect without the extra effort and cost?
    Yup. Gotcha. "Gimme crowd".

I think... you may be in the wrong game.
MMORPGs like ESO are about building your player characters in -your- choosen way, and playing them... not about picking your "role" depending on the situation. I reckon there are games like that...

I was going to give a lengthy answer, but it is pointless. News about Elsweyr clearly stating the approach ZOS is going to have to support the idea here.

Basically making crown store items so we can buy unlocked achivment benefits. For ex, if your main gathered all skyshards, you will be able to unlock all those skillpoints on another alt for a price.

Expecting similar ones later with guild skill lines too. So in the end instead of Soul Slots for a single char, they will enable us to "powerlevel" alts for a price. We still have to relog to another alt which is not something I like, but still providing an option for players like me.

Thank you all for the participation here, I consider this case as closed.
