How to use crafting?

Hi, I have a sorc with master clothing. I'm following this build: https://alcasthq.com/eso-magicka-sorcerer-pet-build-pve/ and have the "necropotence" set.
Now, my question is: how do I improve my character? Shall I improve (to yellow) my necropotence set or is better if I craft a new set?

If you want, you can improve your Necropotence to gold. However, if you are looking to make big improvements to your DPS, practicing your rotation will probably make the bigger difference.

So there's not much to change. Only to gold and then pratice with my char

What other sets are you using with the Necropotence?

Working on skill rotation is something you need to to do but I would also work on getting all of you gear up to gold as every little bit extra helps.

I use Necropotence with Mothers Sorrow. I play the zoo build.
