I hope they add them soon! But agree with the people saying that alliance change should be something very expensive, to avoid flip floppers.

The only valid argument against it is the level of technical challenge ZOS would have in implementing it.

    There is no technical challenge.

Race, class, faction would all just be single numbers in a database, eg 1 = Aldmeri Dominion, 2 = Daggerfall Covenant, 3 = Ebonheart Pact. Changing a value in a database is child's play.

Faction storyline progression might require some thought on how to deal with players who haven't finished it yet. Effortless solution - require them to finish before changing faction or require them to start from the beginning.

you have no clue how it is coded in the background, they are a business if they could make the revenue stream out weigh the costs of implementation it would be something they would examine. Thats how business works, if it was as simple as you suggest there would be implemented as an easy money maker.

"MeinMMO: Many players love new classes, but they do not want a new twink , they have to level up forever. Is there possibly a kind of token for a change of class with existing heroes?

Rich: We have something in the making, but I can not say anything about that yet. But we are working on something and we understand that the players want something in the direction."

    Hopefully, it's coming.

Maybe a quicker way to level but I still don't see them doing a class change token

Your faction actually impacts a lot of things you wouldn't think so, even after One Tamriel. For example, if you start doing the Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild quests as a low level character, they'll only send you to regions in your alliance following the original pre-One Tamriel leveling progression. This was deliberate by ZOS - they stated they didn't want to send new players all over the map.

When last I took a new EP character to join the Fighters Guild, I couldn't do it in the AD starter zone. I had to go to Vivec, Summerset, or my own EP starter zone in Stonefalls in order for that NPC to let me join.

And as you say, without a "Cadwell's Bronze", Faction Progression gets a little odd if you change alliances. The new zone guide will surely help with guiding players to the quests, but I'm not sure how that all works with the achievements. And yes, they could require completing all three faction quests as a pre-requisite to changing alliance as a lore-based nod to "Yes, Meridia, I washed up on all three shores, now this is the Alliance I choose to serve."

Now the one tidbit that supports it being easier to change alliance than we might think is the coding for Battlegrounds. Thanks to a recurring bug with the Alliance Rider costumes, we know that ZOS recycled the Cyrodiil Factions for the 3 Battlegrounds factions because the Costume colors change depending on what team you are on! So, at least temporarily for the space of a Battleground match, ZOS can override your normal faction and place you with another.

We would already have an alliance change token if it could be implemented as easy as race change.
I think the easiest way to implement it would be to make an alliance overlay that changes your alliance only for cyrodiil and deaktivates non repeatable quests.

Maybe a quicker way to level

Leveling in TESO with all free scrolls and events is already laughably easy, just saying.

    What am I missing?

Class tokens are, basically, impossible on the backend without a lot of work. Alliance Tokens are mostly meaningless now, because your alliance only governs which faction you fight for in PvP. Back when PvE players were divided by faction, this was a bigger consideration.

Nice of you pulling that out of your ass. You have no idea how easy or difficult it would be for them. Vampire/werefolf/race can change with tokens, what's to say that class skill lines don't work exactly the same?

I’m all for class change tokens I probably won’t use them but alliance change tokens I’m entirely against unless they go back and lock your account to one faction per campaign. However alliance change tokens should be bound to useable once a month

I really want this simply because I hate redoing quests, wayshrines, skyshards, and achievements. I'm a completionist. My main was played from Early Access. I have so many hours on them but I really don't wanna start over. Not to mention a master crafter.

Sure, getting to level 50 is easy. But that's not my problem. It's the dull grind to get wayshrines etc. Sure it's fun. The first 3 times, maybe. But after my Warden. I really don't want to do it again for this Necromancer class. I'm quite bored of my Templar so I think a Class change token would be really nice.

I dont really want them to charge for that. What they SHOULD do is remove alliance altogether; when you enter cyrodill campaign for the first time on an account you have to play your races alliance, then for the next and all subsequent campaigns you choose alliance at the start( first enter) and the whole account is that alliance for the duration.
