Necromancer & Mobility

I'd rather say this sooner (while the skills are still in development) than later.

After seeing the necromancer skill sketches (which look very impressive btw) I'm worrying about the mobility a necromancer will have. By that I mean that it doesn't look like it has any. It might seem insignificant, but hear me out. Mobility is the best way to deal with large groups, broken abilities, etc. in pvp. I always preferred classes that have some way of moving around quickly. Right now every class has some unique form of mobility (exept magicka templar, they only have a generic charge ability), but even then it's easy to be pinned to the ground. I fear for playing a class that just stands there as soon as a root or snare hits it, so I hope I'm wrong when I say that necromancer doesn't have any mobility.

In conclusion, wtb mobility ;)

Cheers!

I think we’ll just have to wait until they release what the skills do before we start saying the class needs A or B

Yeah this is an incredibly premature assessment. The concept sketches convey very little beyond the thematic ideas of some skills.

Ye I know it's very early, but if I'd say it for example when elsweyr pts comes out, chances are smaller that major adjustments will be made. Right now the skills are in heavy development.

My cursory glance at the class gives me the gut feeling that necromancer is going to be a stronger, more evil version of Templar.
    US/AD - Dodge Hopper - Vet Imperial Templar | US/AD - Goj-ei-Raj - Vet Argonian Nightblade
    US/AD - Arondonimo - Vet Altmer Sorcerer | US/AD - Azumarax - Vet Dunmer Dragon Knight
    US/AD - Barkan al-Sheharesh - Vet Redguard Dragon Knight | US/AD - Aelus Vortavoriil - Vet Altmer Templar
    US/AD - Shirari Qa'Dar - Vet Khajiit Nightblade | US/AD - Ndvari Mzunchvolenthumz - Vet Bosmer Nightblade
US/EP - Yngmar - Vet Nord Dragon Knight | US/EP - Reloth Ur Fyr - Vet Dunmer Sorcerer
    US/DC - Muiredeach - Vet Breton Sorcerer | US/DC - Nachtrabe - Vet Orc Nightblade
    EU/DC - Dragol gro-Unglak - Vet Orc Dragon Knight | EU/DC - Targan al-Barkan - Vet Redguard Templar
    EU/DC - Wuthmir - Vet Nord Sorcerer | EU/DC - Kosh Ragotoro - Vet Khajiit Nightblade
    <And plenty more>

I also saw this when they introduced the Necromancer. I hope they don't make this mistake.

Noticed it too, but in my opinion mobility wouldn't fit the theme. Necromancers don't have mobility in any video game. They'll just have to rely on mist like magplars do.

This. We have no idea of the details of each skill. Nothing concerning the morphs.

It is best to wait until we actually know so we can provide thoughtful and informed thoughts on the class instead of calling out the sky is falling when we know so little.

Necromancers also arent generally capable of running around with a 2 hander uppercuting fools or turning into a werewolf

Point is this isnt your father's necromancer. There is a wide range for thematic portrayal in this game that doesnt adhere to popular ideologies for an equally popular class theme.

The Eso necro is not the d2 necro is not the gw2 necro is not the B&S necro.

People are constantly projecting ideas of what a necromancer is in other games onto what it should be in this game. Just a month ago you had people raging that necro shouldnt be added because pet armies would lag the game out.......

Seeing as we have confirmation that at the very least they were implementing a fast running skeleton that charges a target and explodes id say this assumption is doa.

Uh No. Ill be damned if you Necro fanbois have necromancers porting and phasing all over the place. We already have mobile classes that you can currently play. I think if anything Necors mobility should work how it does in GW2 and Wow's Warlock. A planned port of some sort.

Well pretty early to know what they’ll have. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had some sort of mobility such as a teleport. Since necromancy is a part of conjuration and in other tes games they could port around.

Well some necromancer bosses have teleport in their arsenal, not sure if player necromancer class will get something like Investigator Garron or Nerien'eth have.

Hard to tell at this point. However, I agree about mobility being very good in ESO. It's why I can only tolerate to PvP on my StamSorc, all my other classes feel like turtles.

Tell that to my magicka DK, which still has to rely on mist form. As for the topic itself...not all classes have good mobility...get over it.

You have a snare purge, and a gapcloser. Oh, you can fly too :p It's not enough, but it's something.
On a serious note, it's not because your class happens to be slow that others have to be aswell. Ngl I can't really get over it when I play a class and I find out it's only viable when carried by a group (in which it might play a vital role ofc).

For one Dk mobility is fine. All of the classes mobility is fine. Every class have pros and con. I find more of the issues with escaping happen to people who are not aware of their surroundings. Stay aware and a a dk you can retreat just as good if not better than a NB. Really about positioning.

    Pfft. Mobility.

Why would a necromancer have a special skill to wear himself out dashing across the battlefield to attack his enemy? That's what he has minions for. They run around doing all the physical labor, giving him time to enjoy his margarita.
