PvP Suggestion for Better Performance

Make PvP subscription only, and I don't mean ESO+; Separate.

Results:

1. Developers make more money, which means more funds to fix the issues that may arise.
2. Smaller server population since most 12 year olds can't pay, which means less lag. (Game is rated M for Mature after all)
3. More funds = more content changes in less time = smaller window for meta settlement due to faster changing environment.

Before you pin me to a stake and burn me, this is my opinion, so please respect my right to voice it, even if you think it to be feces.

I will gladly pay an extra $15 a month to have a playable experience in PvP.

I'd probably be willing to pay, if I thought it would work.

I highly doubt that lack of money is the reason for years of persistent performance issues or for recurring bugs, new glitches, unmatched exploits, and campaign balance issues due to steady attrition of players thanks to the aforementioned issues.

What we actually need is for ZOS to fix the persistent performance issues and not reintroduce old bugs and quickly fix new issues. Then, we might actually get enough players back to solve the campaign and battleground population woes.

c'mon now...zos would simply pocket that money and laugh...

there are some seriously complex issues tied to the game's poor performance...

they sold the game with a pvp component...

if they could have fixed it (through coding or equipment upgrades) they would have...

their solution is to try and spread us out more...even though it seems the vast majority of us would like to get together and simply bash each others characters brains in inside a phone booth...

I feel you...it'a such a beautiful game, which allows you the opportunity to really build and customize your own character and use it to compete/play with others...

it's one thing to die from getting outnumbered, or, outplayed by a superior opponent - it's a whole different, frustrating feeling when you die because of lag or disconnect...

@zParallaxz That's a very good analogy.

I just feel like since PvP doesn't really generate funds for them they are less inclined to invest in fixing it, which would make sense from their end, but it's a huge part of the game, the only part of the game for many (Not myself). Stop telling us it's complicated and issues can't be recreated. Fix it, even if it means taking my money. I just want to kill virtual people in peace.

Exactly. I don't mind being out-skilled by better players, or washed away by the waves of the zergs, but it's not ok to be at a disadvantage because the performance of the game itself cripples you.

I'm not, truly. I just want it fixed like everyone else and I'm frustrated enough that I'd be willing to pay for it if it meant it would be fixed. I know many do not feel that way (Paying), but something needs to be done already. It's been four years! i'll tell ya freddy - if there actually was a choice between spending $15 dollars on eso + and those accompanying benefits, or, spending $15 on a lag free, good game performance cyrodiil - my money would go to cyrodiil each and every month..

we have a thread going for ps4/na vivec (a very naive melody )...where we trade war stories, talk about some guild stuff, and, basically complain about whichever alliance is controlling the campaign at the time...

it doesn't really matter which map you like to play on though...

if you get a chance - stop by and say hi...

Yeah i paid full price for this game so I could pay a monthly fee to get devs to fix one of the most basic aspects of the game so I could play it. sounds about right.

They could monetise some aspects of pvp. For example, a pvp item bag for all your siege and stones etc. Put is up for $ and I guarantee people will flock to buy it. Devs get extra funds, players get more space, win win.

Given we have been asking for this sort of stuff for months and months clearly shows that there are bigger problems otherwise anyone with half a brain would have done it ages ago.

The best solution for better performance would be to rewrite the code from scratch on top of a real game engine, with real coders, as opposed to interns/entry level coders, who also write documentation for everything they implement. Should have happened with the 64 bit release.

We're coming up on 5 years ZOS, it's beyond time to release a gold master and move away from the beta we're playing now.

So in theory that would be possible without spending 100s of millions?

Have other MMOs done that before?

I would sure support the game to do it.

Agreed. I like PvP, but I will admit I'm not into it as some other people (mostly because of the issues with it). I also like to RP and collect achievements in PvE. Have been doing some Battlegrounds lately, but that is a nightmare of it's own too.

I love this game, bugs and all, I just wish they would pay more attention to fixing the handful of flaws instead of putting out so much new content. Maybe two quarters of DLC and two quarters of base improvement. If we are handing out our money like madmen now, imagine how much more we would willingly cough up if they fixed the bugs that plague or existence.

stam dk's whom rock a 2 hander have been my bane for many years

at the end of the day - forget the meta/approved character solutions...it's all about having fun and trying to play the alliance war the right way (fight for your banner and allies)..

i've got one of each race, mag/stam version of each class...all 10 characters play in vivec...same psn as forum name...4 DC, 3 AD, and 3 EP...most of my playing time is late night west coast...

chances are good that we've rezzed or killed one another at some point...if you happen to step acoss my prone corpse up on top of some keep - try to say hi

we're super fortunate to have a really good group of players (and more importantly - people) whom have been stopping by the thread for years kicking in and talking cyro and other stuff...

it's pretty cool to be able to share your passion (even if it's just a hobby) with others...probably even more amazing to get folks whom can leave the competitiveness of pvp in the game and get along with other folks outside the game...

I tried two handed back when Azura was a campaign and was not impressed. Maybe it's changed now, IDK.

I know it's just a game at the end of the day, and I do enjoy it most of the time. Like I mentioned before I don't mind being outskilled or overrun by the Zerg, but when you're in the middle of a fight and that random loading screen hits you and you are dead once it finishes it makes my blood boil! *Screams at the heavens!*

These are the ones I have, all EP:

Stam DK: My main. He's 780, my crafter and has all my acheivements. (Dressed in all white and gold Rumare Waterfront Casualwear costume, can't miss him!)

Argonian Templar healer at like level 40 (I wish I had gone Templar from the get go)

Sorc & Nightblade both around or below level 10.

I've come too far on my DK to turn back now.

I'm on EST time, usually play nights & weekends. I will keep an eye out for you!

Definitely. As a role player you have to be able to compartmentalize the character and the player as separate entities. I know what you mean. The community is pretty tight despite the random trolls here and there, specially for such a massive game as this one.

Unfortunately this would drive sales away...players would just play another game if it costs more. Siege bag would be nice for eso plus. As much as you would like to think people would pay more to have a good PvP experience...there is always a good game that would cost less. This is a very competitive industry, and if they don't get results people get fired. That's just how the real world works.

@Elong because in this analogy I'm not buying a broken phone, I am willing to buy a working phone after seeing what the broken one is capable of if only it was whole.
