It's funny... because what's going to happen are people not buying it because of this thread, it turns out to be a bug and gets fixed, but since it's limited time item, people will lose out on it and then complain even more.

Well they have 1 month to fix it or otherwise make a statement on it, so the clock is ticking...

Please release a statement on behalf of ZOS on this matter. The community was duped into purchasing something because of false advertisement. We need to know for sure whether this is an unintentional bug, or of it's intended not to have flame effects while sheathed.

What I find most disappointing is complete silence from ZOS. Just one sentence from them could settle the arguments in this thread. All they need to say is "Working as intended." or "We're working on a fix."

My guess is it's working as intended and their advertising was intentionally misleading. After all, if they said these had no persistent particle effects they wouldn't sell as well. I guess they are banking on folks buying the arms pack and just 'living with it' instead of having to deal with customer support for a refund.

It's not the fact that it's undesirable. It's the fact that it was advertised as something that it is not, and players are having to pursue refunds for a mislabeled product.

    Read. Please.

Is it at least permanently active while you have your weapon drawn or does it disappear like normal weapon enchants too? I honestly prefer the flames to be gone while sheathed, so that's fine by me.

Wait werent the frozen weapons that are currently on PTS with particle effects when in sheath. So why dont ilambris weapons having particle effects in that stance too? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

So I just tested on PTS and the Troll King is the available set today. There are no particle effects on the shield when on my back, with fists out (no weapon in main hand, just a shield).

Yet this is Alcast's video showing the Grothdarr shield, with burning effects playing when sheathed:
    https://youtu.be/K5rORZUacJQ?t=41

Same with Iceheart (frost is animated on shield):

It stays active so long as the weapon is out. I haven't had the particles disappear until I sheathe the weapons.

You seem to be using the entire repertoire of internet sound bites uttered from those who think ZoS can do no wrong. Not only have you changed tact when it became obvious that you initially failed to grasp the entire point to this thread, but you try to cover it up with yet another comment that places the blame squarely at the feet of your fellow gamers/consumers. People like you do more damage to gaming than those you are desperately attempting to look down on. Clear marketing benefits us all, not just those who feel they've been mislead on this occasion.

Local shop keepers must love you. They probably know they can sell you a tin of blue paint disguised as a tin of yellow paint and you'll always just go on your merry way without ever saying a word. After all, your fault for not opening the tin of paint at the point of service.

If this was the first and only questionable description that's hit the CS, then your white knighting would maybe be more understandable.

I just don’t like being on the ZOS complain train like a lot of others. ZOS isn’t perfect but how is this their fault? I understood what I was reading right away, I was not mislead. They have done highly questionable and scummy things in the past but this is not one of them.

I went against my better judgement and purchased the pack as well thinking the effects would persist even when sheathed because that's how it shows in the preview. So I purchased it and immediately equipped the style - then noticed the flames weren't lit while sheathed... if it's gonna cost 2500 crowns for just 5 weapon styles then at least make the effects persist like advertised - that's the main purchase point for me.

Edit: I'm not able to look now but I'm almost certain I saw the shield and another weapon were flaming while sheathed. Maybe the preview bugged idk..

I'm really disappointed that the effects dont persist while sheathed. The sad thing is that ZOS will reallize it when its too late. Most people dont read the forums so they wont know until they buy it, so ZOS will get a lot of sales. But people will be prepared for next monster weapons. But then it will be too late as if they label it as a bug and it gets fixed a lot of people will rage because that wasnt announced earlier preventing them from getting earlier limited offers. And on the other hand if this is intended, then they will eventually loose a lot of sales on any further monster weapon sales.

So hopefully we get an official statement from them that this will be fixed in the future.

I also thought it would be aflame constantly because the description does say "persistent". Glad I held up on buying these. Without that perma-flame they aren't anything special really. Would like to know if this is a bug before they leave the store.

    Pretty weak.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

Have any of you ZoS defenders even looked at the preview screen of the pack before you bash others for making stuff up?

    i1pAmzZ.png

The shield is sheathed and it's still flaming in this preview. I think it's pretty logical to assume therefore that all other weapons would be flaming when sheathed also.
