    No thanks to rifles

And whilst dragons are awesome, can you imagine how ridiculous it would actually look in game swishing about crash landing.

The nix mount and clockwork stuff looks stupid enough.

I'd prefer the pre gunpowder, European medieval vibe that's mainly about now to remain.

Dunno. I seem to remember running all over Skyrim with Serana in tow with no one batting an eyelash at my obvious vampirism. Of course, it might have been that no one wants to look wrong at the fire-breathing, shout-you-to-pieces Dragonborn...

Flying Dragons are lore-friendly. What's also lore friendly is that the vast majority of the dragons are in hiding hoping that the Akaviri and the rest of the people don't kill them all.

As for rifles, I'm interested to see your sources for that, I can't find any.

I agree; there are no sources regarding rifles, and living dragons are anachronistic in Tamriel (beyond a few examples, such as http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Nafaalilargus). The OP’s intent was likely to troll.

I don't know if rifles themselves are lore friendly, but cannons and cannon fire have been referenced in lore, however the source I know of comes from events and in game scenes from the Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard, a game that hasn't happened yet in the context of ESO lore. I believe cannons have also been referenced elsewhere, but can't really pinpoint where.

With all that said I do not think guns have any place within the TES franchise and should be kept out of any game.

That entire video is about how there are things in Elder Scrolls that could be the basis for someone in that universe eventually inventing guns. Not that guns are actually canon.

The closest thing in that video that could prove the point that guns are lore friendly is some scripts regarding "cannons" that never made it into the Redguard game. And a single "joke book" in Daggerfall that mentions cannons. Nothing in the video is concrete evidence that guns would actually make sense for an Elder Scrolls game. Only that the universe Elder Scrolls is set in has the capacity for guns to be a thing.

The guy even goes on to talk about how he doesnt want to see guns in Elder Scrolls because he doesnt think it would fit the setting. And I have to agree with him. Im certain that with all the lore that has been created for Elder Scrolls you could create an argument for just about anything being included in a ES game. That doesnt mean that it should be.

Dragons were not subservient to man unless we talk about the Dragonborn.
Dragons dominated man and mer alike. They were superior in both magical abilities and pure strength and saw the mortal races as a means to an end.
Elder Scrolls is not as crazy as WoW. It is pretty tame in comparison.

Well, mostly. The Akaviri hunted dragons, not the other way around.

    http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Annals_of_the_Dragonguard
"2809: We received reports of a dragon in the east. Scouts were sent immediately, and signs of it were discovered, but it fled at our approach. The survivors have grown wary indeed."

"2818: An auspicious year. Alduin's Wall was finished, a dragon was located and slain, and Emperor Reman II visited to officially dedicate the Wall. The Blood Seal was consecrated in the presence of all the Dragonguard of Skyrim, a great honor with which few Temples can boast."

    http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Book_of_the_Dragonborn
"The Nords tell tales of Dragonborn heroes who were great dragonslayers, able to steal the power of the dragons they killed. Indeed, it is well known that the Akaviri sought out and killed many dragons during their invasion, and there is some evidence that this continued after they became Reman Cyrodiil's Dragonguard (again, the connection to dragons) - the direct predecessor to the Blades of today."

    http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Rise_and_Fall_of_the_Blades
"Many classic texts tell us of adventures to Akavir, known as the dragon lands of the east. Many from Tamriel have attempted to conquer it, most famously Emperor Uriel V and his Tenth Legion in 3E288 as documented in the Imperial dispatch "Disaster at Ionith." Dragons have long been legend in Akavir, and many believe that their brief appearance in Tamriel's history are those that escaped Akaviri, for it was there they were hunted and killed off by the Dragonguard. The Dragonguard would follow those that fled to Tamriel in the late 1st Era."

From my experience and what I've read in other sources is that for most fantasy universes it's typically accepted that firearms (or gunpowerd in general) often doesn't exist once there's easily attainable and usable magic, because there's often no point in inventing it.

Why would you feel the need to invent something to shoot a metal bullet at your enemy when you can make them turn into flames by simply waving your hands?

Of course some universes avoid this, but then it's often with races or people who don't have readily access to magic or magicians. Dwarves would be a common example.

As for vampires in the general population: Yes, they're typically shunned, but there are notable exceptions, for example Rivenspire, where there's a significant amount of vampires. But overall, I think it's handled similar to necromancy: "If they're on our side and since it's war we can probably ignore it for now." The worst that could happen would be the vampires fighting for the other alliances, especially considering their powers.

This even has parallels in the real world (just skipping vampirism of course): Colored people, especially black ones, were long time considered to be inferior or in some instances less more than animals. You could own them, you could trade them, one could even kill them at will in some instances. But then there've been wars, like the US Independence War, their Civil War, later the World Wars… and suddenly those "sub people" were "brothers in arms", because no matter how unhappy you're with someone, when they're fighting for you, it's something different.

And I've yet to see some living dragon in ESO. ;) Bones on threads don't count. :D
