So do think in any major mmorpg, that low levels are on the same playing field level wise compared to end game people. Guess what, they’re not.

^ and in the rest of the game progression is still there. You still earn CP, it still helps in PvE and the Cyrodiil PvP you choose to play.

For BatttleGrounds they have no place its wrecked the pace playstyle and the better players dominate. Now its a more level playing ground, lower CP players have a chance, and more importantly the pace suits the terrain and round tactics, fast and fun. This is the right call 100%.
In all honesty, cp skill trees are so front loaded this current patch there is no real difference in stats between someone with 500cp compared to someone with 690, besides gear and out right skill.

Because points are front loaded people have more cp to spread out, no one should be stacking too much into one area. That's about 190 cp, 63 points more to spread which is actually a good amount of points/percentage like throwing those extra points into befoul or block reduction. Not to mention could be the difference between having or not having a passive. Even 10 percent more adds up on paper, especially in outnumbered scenarios.

Imo, stamina builds need at least 585 CP to be competitive as they have 3 crucial CP passives. Unchained, Tactician, and Exploiter. Being that Unchained and Tactician are 120 point passives and Tactician and Exploiter sharing a CP pool, you’d need at least 195 per tree to achieve that. Otherwise you miss 10% additional damage, which is huge

You’ll be missing some defensive stars below that level as well because you have to unlock Unchained.

You're forgetting the crazy passives. The cut-off point is at 585CP, when you can get both a 120CP and 75CP passive in different trees of the same colour (say Exploiter and Tactician, which synergize so well). Those passives are often overlooked when discussing CP gaps (under the front-loading excuse).

I agree. After playing both kinds of BGs I found no-cp to simply be the most fun.

While there is LESS progression, no-cp doesn't eliminate the progression of skills, builds and equipment. No-cp still takes a long time to master (if ever) and requires a lot of experimentation.

Plus, no-cp is inclusive to lower CP players and players with less interest/skill.

Overall, this is the right decision if we're assuming the population can't handle 2 BG campaigns.

I don’t know who told you that but tactician is not that necessary. Lol only cp passives you really need are exploiter and unchained which are in the same tree. You shouldn’t be putting 75 point into atronach at all, that spacing of cp means your missing cp in the ritual which are far more important.

I would be interested to learn how PC NA players perceive the population changes in BGs from noCP to CP over the past 6 months. I personally enjoyed the no-CP pace a lot more BUT as a daily BG player in both versions on PC EU I have to conclude that I see many more people playing CP BGs compared to no-CP.

No-CP BGs were a wasteland after the initial rush whereas BGs with CP seems to attract more and more people and, a lot of premades have been forming which was NOT the case in no-CP. I don't want to go back to having only one premade in entire PC EU, which was the case before the shift to CP.

You’re wrong and it’s just math. Sit down and look at the CP system and find a better way to increase your burst. I’ll be waiting for your “far more important” passive reveal.

In fact, the difference between 582 and 585 CP for a stam build in pvp is ~6% of your burst.

I don't know why you guys get so emotional, but simple fact on PC EU is: We finally have people playing BGs, lots of people (compared to noCP) and plenty of premades.

That is a good thing. I personally prefer gameplay wise noCP but what does that matter if noone is playing it? Population in noCP was really, really low compared to now.

Why is it impossible to have a mature, objective discussion about those issues on these forums?

I highly doubt bg population increased because of CP. Population did however increase everywhere because ZOS sold a crapload of new boxes with Morrowind and many of those players took time to reach endgame and become interested in PvP. On PC/NA I still see most of the same max-CP names I saw when it was non-CP with very little change in population, if any.

Ill back you up Emma, you did indeed - you were the 1 that preferred it with CP. ;)

It's the right call for BG pace to remove them tho, the devs know it hence launching without them. I hope you give them a shot as honestly i was anti no-CP till i tried it and realized how well it fits BG action. The fun was enough to draw me into Sotha even.

I wish that was the case, but it isnt. Its not new names populating CP BGs on PC EU, it's more of the old names participating - because it is so easy now to swap from cyro to BGs and back, not having to change gear & food. There is so many 1k+ CP players in BGs now whom you wouldve never seen playing in the noCP version. It's really just that, people like it easy. I'm afraid those names will disappear and speaking from experience as a hardcore BG only player when it was noCP, the new names, the low cp players interested in BGs, have not been able to field those numbers we have now.

Thanks for the reply though, I think ZOS is (again) basing their decisions mostly on PC NA data, like they did before on multiple occasions (AP Event, etc.) and didn't monitor and analyse all platforms equally. Which would fit into the picture you painted.

Spot on @Morgul667 i agree, on Xbox EU Shor and Sotha are quite quiet so they probably could merge the two.

It's hard to get people to leave the comfort blanket of Vivec for a full 30 days. But a 7 day out would be doable.

You are right tho, in BG No-CP is 100% matched to pace / playstyle in open world its a little different. However i do feel I prefer it now.

I wish they would spend more time on fixing CP and sets, but since that most likely won't happen.... Yay for no cp.

I have always felt no CP was far more balanced and less "cancerous". But the populations don't always like that. Hence why I PvP in shor Xbox na. No CP PvP is dead. Bgs I haven't really noticed much of a change in population from no CP to cp, only thing I noticed is it became a race of tanks and healers. The vast majority of matches are populated with Templars, wardens and DK's, healing and blocking. It drastically slowed the pace of most matches.
