Pariah's Pinnacle. Will you buy it?

This is one I won't be buying.

On preview it's cold and unwelcoming. For those looking for a bleak snowy property it's probably fine, and there is plenty of space outside. But where there are normally windows all the rooms are open to the elements, and the place is cavernous. There's no way you could get it to look comfortable, and even the floors are uneven so carpets are out. I really don't think it's worth the price (13000 crowns unfurnished/16500 furnished), and the furniture provided in the furnished version is basic and dismal.

{{{shivers}}}.......I'm still in preview as I write......going to port back to Hundings now where it's nice and warm before I freeze to death.

Eh, it's nice looking, but I'm not that into Orc decor. Have enough homes that still aren't finished, so it's nice, but not a buy for me.

    I don't buy crown-only homes, so no.

I don't dislike it though. If they ever put out a smaller property with the snowy aesthetic that was available for gold, I'd buy it.

No, I don't buy crown only houses and I wouldn't even buy this one if you could get it for gold. Lately the houses have trended towards an empty cave/warehouse style with no real character, just different wallpaper applied.

I wouldn't buy it even if it were really affordable. It's just not my style at all. I think it's objectively nice for its style, but I do also think the floors should have been flat so that you can place carpets without clipping or other weird issues. Even beds or tables might look uneven or floaty on the floors

I was happy to learn we'll have an Orc home in Wrothgar, I love that area and was waiting for something coming up there - maybe a quiet corner in Orsinium or a hut with some rocks around in the wild.
Now just had a walk around Pariah's Pinnacle and however I'd like to like it, I somehow can not.
The setting is nice, up in the rocks, show is blowing in but I don't really get that place at all. Notable but the majority of space looks overall useless (long corridors with a lot of unnecessary stairs), the ground is so uneven that I wouldn't be able to put any rugs or carpets down, literally any furniture without messing up the texture with contact points. The walls are just boringly repetitive and also hardly can be decorated without that buzz killing contact issues (either leaving a terrible big gap or losing out the content in merging textures).
Nothing homey for me, even for interior designers it would give no chance to win this.

I like the waterfall though and that broken arch above but that'd be very expensive for whateverthousand crowns.
Missed opportunity, at least I sorely miss a genuine Wrothgar property :(

wow what a surprise!! i mean the crowns only part... truly another slap in the face from ZOS

i love this house because of its potential to turn it into something silly/different/amazing, 13k crowns are you kidding me? again?

does anyone realise some players (not me, but look at the bigger picture) come from countries where their rl house costs less than 13k crowns (converted to rl money)?.........do you even know your playerbase?

It began for me with the Hakkvild's High Hall, only for gold if you make the two dungeons in veteran mode. Tell me ZOS, how many players in the database have that achievement so far? less than 1%? how many of that percentage actually bought the house, also less than 1%?

than the cwc house, crowns only, soo many people where pissed off already but after that a lot of players where expecting the wrothgar house during the Orsinium event at least to be purchaseable for gold, delayed. Finally it comes out, crown crap again. i log in and entire guild chat is filled with people being totally pissed by another slap in the face. Great job ZOS, pissed off active players. Seems that marketing new dlc's and insanely priced crown items are your focus. I see known bugs that havent been solved in 2+ years..

If you want to keep this game running you need to keep its economy alive, the game needs goldsinks. Zos doesnt seem to care about the future of ESO, more like milk it till its dry. Furthermore they still think 10 people paying 10k crowns is better than 150 people paying 1k crowns.

I love Orc aesthetics, snow, and lonely places. You’d think this home was made just for me.

But I won’t be buying it either.

It’s not a question of cost, it’s a question of value. When I think of all the things I could do or buy with $150, a virtual home that I would never be able to decorate to my satisfaction due to item counts just doesn’t make the list.

Please make some smaller homes in Wrothgar! A cozy townhome in Orsinium, a lonely farmstead in the wilds, a rugged stronghold in the mountains, a tiny cottage by the sea... There are so many more appealing possibilities than a massive manor that’s not a manor.

I've looked forward to Wrothgar housing for a while. Unfortunately, ZOS has chosen to keep with their pricing tactics, and at 130$ + I cannot justify purchasing this house.

I looked it over in PTS and tested out furnishing placement in it. It's nice, has a lot of potential, and they've put good work into it. But there are a great many things 130$ can buy that are far more reasonable, and some of us will never have that kind of disposable income ZOS seems to believe we are capable of giving them (on top of purchasing the game, chapters, and sub).

It's unfortunate, but no this home is not worth that price tag, so I won't be buying it.

I don't buy houses crown store exclusive. BUT generally I like orc architecture because just that.. it's rough, raw, and can keep all "nasties" away. And it does remind me early medieval dwellings...

Of course, most of ESO houses are little practical in terms of inhabiting in them (I know I know, it's a fantasy homes but maybe I am biased because of my academic background) but from all the ones I've seen before.. this one is least practical of the all!... plus no near wayshrine!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know.. I guess.. one could buy it to keep all the goddamned awful paintings in them? hah

Agreed! I wasn't planning to purchase this since seeing the previews from PTS and the fact that it's an Orc home. I just don't really care for the architecture enough to want an Orc home - I haven't purchased any so far. I think if I had an Orc character, I probably would. But even then, I wouldn't purchase this one for most all of the reasons already mentioned. It's cavernous with uneven floors, etc.

However, I was surprised to see the unfurnished price to be the same as Earthtear Cavern. Granted, I guess they're both about the same in size, but since the Pinnacle is limited time (even an extended one), I expected it to be at least 14K. I think the furnished price is a bit higher than Earthtear, though.

Also, it makes the Orbservatory look even more overpriced at 12K unfurnished.

I, too, would like to see smaller, more affordable homes in each of the DLC zones. However, it occurred to me a couple of days ago that it probably won't happen because of ESO+. It's one thing to provide homes for gold in Morrowind, since everyone had to pay real money for the chapter in order to play it. However, with ESO+, you're just renting, so in theory, someone could sub for a month just to purchase a house with gold in a DLC zone and then unsub. So, if there were to be any homes for gold in DLC areas, they'd have to be small homes or apartments - anything that would cost less than 1500 Crowns. So, if someone subbed for one month in order to purchase a DLC house with gold that cost less than 1500 crowns, they'd actually be spending more money.

However, I would be perfectly happy with an apartment or small home in Hew's Bane, Anvil/Kvatch, Orsinium, and CWC.

I *really* wish they would introduce some new homes that are smaller and more affordable. Like the coven cottage, which was available for purchase with gold thru achievements. I love seeing these grand new houses, but I think it's about time we start to see some new non-notable sized homes. There are the Orc longhouses, some cottages in Tel Branora that are amazing, and so many more I see in game but are unavailable for purchase.

The Crown Store only feels like another slap in the face. I've been looking forward this house. But honestly the house itself is...bad.

    It's an Icy Beehive.

It looks pretty outside, but the house itself is just...bad, I can't even imagine what I would have to do just to make it feel like a proper home for my Orcs especially with how limited the item limit is, also it's too..open.

So yeah, no, I'm not getting it.

I might be able to decorate it to my satisfaction, but yeah $150 for a virtual home is crazy. If it were $20 - $30 I might consider it.

That said, I have two additional comments.

    1) It's lovely. If it were available for in-game gold and I had enough I'd probably buy it.

    2) This is a very disturbing development. This is the second crown store only uber home in a core racial style. That's a vital distinction for me. I don't mind so much that they're trying to flog these monstrously expensive virtual homes in non-core styles but it's different when it's in the style of one of the 10 playable races.

Is there going to be another Orc manor at some point which can be purchased for gold? Should we expect crown store only manors for the other playable races which don't currently have manors? Orcs are probably one of the less popular races so they might be testing the waters with this one.

The Telvanni Tumor Tower was less problematic both for it being a sub-culture style and looking so hideous from the outside but it should have been available for gold.

Like some have said I buy homes that are only for gold even if it was 100mil I would buy it but I’m not into spending real money on houses.

I did take a look at it, not a bad house really big and you can do a lot with it but it’s not for me.

More homes for gold or just add a gold option for every home and a crown option.

The house is well made but way overpriced for its value (several DLCs). I consider it not worth more than 6k-8k crowns, furnished. Even then it would have been a tough decision for me, because of the many reasons others have already pointed out.
