ESO requires you to invest a lot more time and /or money to get to the "highest level" of gameplay.

LOL, there is no high level of gameplay in ESO, to put it bluntly the gameplay is lacking (woefully so in PvE) and the skill level is a joke in comparison, it takes far more time, skill and dedication to reach the highest level in those games, which is why for some people it is their living, the "highest level" in ESO is laughable in comparison.

    1. Include custom match for players on BG. Premade matches are extremely important as players/organisers can made their own tournament with it. Besides that, players can just play with mates and have fun without the long queue time
2.START WITH A RANK SYSTEM on BG. Every successful game has a competitive edge to it. The leaderboard system is just not the way to do it because the more u play the higher u get on the leaderboard. It should be the more WINs u get the higher your rank will be.
    3. PVP Balance. This will be the hardest to achieve because of the many factors from different classes. But this current patch Hotr is decent and improving on this patch will be a good start.

Disclaimer: I play dota and the game is miles ahead of ESO in terms of the PVP aspect. As for the PVE side. It will not make the game more popular because nobody will want to watch a tournament where players are going up against NPCs.

When it comes to PvP, I'm coming to believe that when there is a large barrier to entry (needing to get to level cap, then grind endgame PvE), especially when that barrier keeps you from being competitive, a game will never reach the heights of an eSport. ESO has moved in the direction to facilitate this with 1T but is still far from where it would need to be if it wanted to be an eSport, like combat. I think that no MMORPG that tries to combine PvE and PvP will ultimately be successful in that area.

What are you on about? Winning/competing in e-sports tournaments is the highest level of gameplay in those games, and takes vastly more time, dedication and skill than it does to reach the ""highest level" of gameplay in ESO like end game trials, etc.

And winning/competeing in PVP in ESO is the herp di do...and it takes longer to get there because of the gear grind and go ahead and invite a DOTA tournament champion to come play ESO for 500 hours to get to top gear and watch him get slapped like the twitch game player they are...they are not good at games with depth.

Go away, I dont have time to play with potatoes today.

If Cyrodiil was still 600v600v600 WITHOUT LAG then this game would be burning hot

But no, reduced to 150v150v150 to "increase performance" aka too lazy to fix lag so we downscaled

    Add ranked mode for battlegrounds
LOL. DOTA. Not even worth considering when talking about ESO.

We have PvP championships. It's called the leaderboard. Nothing more is really needed for that.

Now, improving PvP itself, mostly start with server lag. But comparing to lol and dots is just lol.

Whaaaaaat? PvP leaderboards are piece of crap. Both emperor and BG leaderboards. No skill involved, only measurement of time played in BGs or Cyrodiil.
You can be complete nab and still end first in the leaderboards given you spend a lot more time than others in a given period (a week in case of BGs)

I would love to see BG leaderboards changed to work like trial/vMA ones. These actually measure player performance.

This game has always had the potential of becoming an esport but not with ANY of the current management or leads.

It is clear to the most casual of observer that the management's prime directive is

    1) Generate hype 2) Sell new boxes

Anything that distracts from that goal is completely ignored.

Zenimax media purchased Bethesda and created Zenimax Online Studios as a sort of automatic milking machine to extract as much cash from the TES franchise at the expense of its great depth, limitless potential, and very future. You can see it with how poor Tod Howard is being forced by ZM to repackage skyrim as many ways as physically possible. There is no more innovation, no more risk, just feeding on the remains of the cash cow with no respect for its overall wellbeing.

Who needs to kill the golden goose when you can just slowly leech it to death?

ESO isn't a MOBA. they're apples and oranges, if you prefer the MOBA style of play go play a MOBA. (you've got lots of choice) complaining ESO isn't one is akin to walking into a hisotircal movie and complaining there weren't eneugh super heros. completely differant genres made for completely differant people

    1) There would have to be quite a bit more depth to skill selection.
    2) Server issues would have to be 100% resolved.
    3) Classes would have to be much more balanced.

Not intending these as insults or anything. But MOBAs have a stronger design focus on balance and stability than MMOs.

    Real talk.

LOL, Dota and moba in general are really famous for 1 very important reason: easy to get hooked, hard to master.

ESO is pretty hard to master, yet even harder to get hooked.

The new generation of gamers nowaday with their shiny Dark Souls, Witcher 3, or even Skyrim/Fallout, all those big name in open world rpg, when they try out mmorpg for the first time, they expect the game to have the same production quality like the other big triple A games. But then reality strikes: Most mmorpg aren't flashy at all. ESO has great and in-depth mechanic, but the presentation stuck in 2010, before Skyrim was a thing. The story is great, but there's no visual to back it up. The combat system is fun and awesome, yet feels quite clunky and bland, also, the lack of in game tutorial does not help at all (even ESO guide on forum is quite lacking, and sometimes just bad, especially build guide).

Want ESO to become more famous? Make the game more flashy, have better cinematic moment (not cutscene, we don't need cutscene), and give new players a much more powerful opening hours. If players got hooked in the first 3-5 hours, ESO will be going places.

You can't compare a MMO to a MOBA. MMORPGs are by definition less accessible compared to those MOBAS and therefore never will be that popular. I'm happy about where ESO is and don't want it to be another LOL with a community of toxic twelve year olds, a free to play system and more money spent on tournaments then on making the game it self good.

Skyrim ran to lots of testing to have it run on console, you see the idiotic small civil war fights 20 characters total and bodies despawn after 3 seconds so they can load more.
Yes this was mostly an memory issue.
However graphic was designed for an empty world there they had good control over everything going on.
not rawl-kwa, trials or zergs clashing in cyrodil.
Having i7-980-32GB memory as system requirement would reduce the player base some.
Add that all the polish made skyrim look good, this is hard on an far larger game.

MOBA has simple graphic, same with lots of other popular games like overwatch.
It let you run them from cheap computers increasing the player base.

Agree with you on better tutorials, Zarias undaunted academy :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Yes, agree with these suggestions.

Would be pretty fun if there were a new kind of "arena" category of player housing, where you can design your own battlegrounds matches with traps, custom rules, different numbers of players, battle royale deathmatch, maybe even NPCs and bosses you can place. Perhaps the best arena designs could get voted on to be added to BG queue.

both League and DOTA are MOBA/RTS games - how would ESO be made to be anywhere near similar? ESO would need a HUGE overhaul to completely change its genre. If ESO were to be made more popular, following the League/DOTA style would not be the solution
