Add-on to locate friends in large group PvP?

Are there any add-ons out there that highlights or somehow distinguishes players on your friends list (e.g. by highlighting the name above their head) when in large raid groups?
Specifically, I want to be able to identify where my friends are in large group PvP battles (when looking at the battlefield, as opposed to the map/minimap) so that I can prioritize helping them.
Currently, in a large group, all the names/icons are displayed for the entire group in the same colors/fonts/icons. I have not been able to find a way within the base game to solve this problem.
My understanding is that the API for name plates is pretty limited, but maybe I am just behind the times?
