E.S.O. in English but eh-zo in German because we tend to abbreviate terms with a pronounceable word whenever possible and historically even form abbreviations differently though the English way of forming abbreviations as acronyms is considered more fashionable nowadays.

We Germans tend to use syllabic abbreviations like "Interpol". FBI would have been formed as Feburin, CIA as Centinag.

That's probably why Kai Schober pronounces ESO differently o:)

    E.S.O
For all the people saying E.S.O. is the only acceptable form because all acronyms are said that way: does that mean you also say WoW as double-you, oh, double-you? Or do you say wow?

I think for me it depends on what's easiest to pronounce. For ESO I'll say each letter, because that feels more natural to me than trying to make it into a word, but for others like WoW, LOL FUBAR etc. I'll say it as if it's a word.

Except ASAP for some reason. I know some people say it as a word but I always say A-S-A-P. But I think that might be a British/American English thing. I learned it from my mum, who learned it from the British Armed Forces.

Edit: Crap, Danikat beat me to it.

    The reason is simple:
I also sea TEESS for The Elder Scrolls, and not T.E.S
TES games sounds alot better than. TEE EEH ESS games

    E.S.O
E-S-O always. eeeso makes me twitch for some reason. I'm with @Sigtric though and usually the "words" for other games for some reason. Loh-tro. Swoh-tore. Wottle-kay.

Same here! I'm not sure why but I originally thought E.S.O. in my head when I bought the game and since then anything else just sounds wrong to me. lol I played Loh-tro for five years and I always called it Lotro, SWToR I just called Star Wars, and I never played WoW so I had no idea what Wottle-kay was until I read the next post haha!
