Where do i find rare provisioning ingredients?

Is it all random from crates, barrels etc? Or do they drop in specific places?

The two purple ingredients come from only two places: writ rewards and hirelings. The gold one comes from filleting fish caught from fishing.

There are a couple of things we might call "rare provisioning ingredients."

The purple mats used in food and drink come from hirelings and writ rewards. If you need frost Miriam and Bervez juice, invest in provision hirelings and you'll build up a supply

The game also calls the mats used to make furniture "rare provisioning ingredients," like the mundane runes used for certain plans. These all come from their respective nodes in the world as a rare drop.

There's also a tab in guild stores under crafting...provision...rare ingredients if you want to buy them.

The bolded part used to be true for furnishing mats BUT ZOS in their wisdom wanted to make life more annoying......

So in that section you will now find, perfect roe, bervez juice, frost Miriam and decorative wax.

All other furnishing mats are now found under the craft that they produce furnishings for so.......

Mundane Rune > Enchanting > Furnishing mats

Clean Pelt and Bast > Clothier > Furnishing mats

Heartwood > Woodworking > Furnishing mats

and for the life of me can't remember the alchemy mat!
