Guards Accost You While Crashing

So I was already mid-crash, had the audio lag and everything that happens when I'm about to crash. I see a guard coming and I have 3 gold left of a of a bounty on my head (and 288 stolen items of a mix of green, blue, and purple quality)so i rush to get around a corner before it's too late. So my game crashes, I load back in expecting everything to be gone and instead find I'm dead and all my stolen items are gone, even though my game crashed way before the guard should have even gotten to me. Of course they won't do anything about the hours of effort it took to stock up knowing I won't be able to log on for more than a few minutes a day for the next several days going completely down the drain.

I believe crashing falls under "force quitting", meaning your character will remain in the world until you login again.
It's mostly common in non-safe areas to have to wait 10 seconds before you are safely logged out. If you skip it, you risk getting killed by trash mobs (happened to me once).

Now, you were stealing, so I assume you were in a city, meaning you don't need to wait 10 seconds to log out, but it's possible that you do have to actually click the quit button in order to safely log out. Since you didn't safely log out, a guard must've gotten close enough to spot you. And so, since you didn't reply in time, he just killed you and confiscated your loot.

I didn't log out, I crashed. The guard accosted me while I was crashed as in by the time he caught up to me I was already back to the home screen of my xbox with the game completely closed. If I were logging out I would have gone back to my house or somewhere safe but as crashing happens at random there was absolutely nothing I could do about it.
