Provisioning delima....new, mid or high rank toon?
Hello Fellow ESO Travelers
I think I've made a mistake and painted myself into a corner. I'm still new with ESO...about 2-3 months in.....and still learning but made the mistake of trying to spread out some of the crafting among three characters. Goal at first was Enchanting, Tailoring and Alchemy on my main Sorc, Woodworking and Blacksmithing on my Khajiit and have a non-playable character handle provisioning. The idea was to spread everything out.
But then I made changes and put Alchemy on a forth character (Level 35 now), my Sorc took up Tailoring, Blacksmithing, Enchanting and move provisioning to him while my forth keep Alchemy.
But I think I move Provisioning too late as he is 49 and got a late start putting points and doing recipes to build up the leveling. He's Level 28 in Provisioning but most of the recipes I have are for Level 1 to 25 so I'm not getting much of a boost and sucking thru resources too fast. The next Level is 30 and I can make Level 25-29 recipes but my too main characters are 49 and 35 so doesn't help but gets me higher. I now wonder if I should just bite the bullet and move Provisioning to either my second character at 35, the one at 24 or even start fresh with a forth character I want to try, a Redguard Templar I just created but yet have taken out.

✭✭✭✭✭Fortunately for you Provisioning is the easiest of the crafting skills to level up.
You can buy a few mid-level or high recipes at the guild traders (or at the NPC brewer or chef) ... and level up on your 49 character, another character, or both. Just grab some skyshards for quick skill points. You can always respec your skills at a shrine for a small fee.
Keep in mind that end game characters generally have near or above 300 skill points. That is more than enough to max out all your crafting and still comfortably have combat skills unlocked too.1 -

Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.***Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis1 -

Tevalaur✭✭✭✭✭I do suggest you get your blacksmithing/clothing/woodworking all one ONE crafter ASAP however. I have checked the guild sellers...a lot of CP100-160 recipes and a few early ones here and there...I've just got to find more ingredients laying around.
Ingredients are plentiful in bandit delves: just loot all crates and bags you see, and craft the highest recipes you can once you're back in town.PC-EU1 -

✭✭✭✭✭Two of the best sources of Ingredients in the game are Hireling Mails and Writs. Invest at least 2 points into the Provisioning Hireling Mails. Provisioning Writs are a net gain in mats, and a good source for rare blue and purple recipes. Do the Prov writs on all levels of alts too.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

✭With all six trade skills, don't feel you have to rush. With many, waiting can speed up the grind considerably.
Provisioning is an example. If you have ESO plus you can build a massive storehouse of ingredients easily. If you don't...have an alt hold them, and you can have a pretty big inventory with a full stack of everything. Invest in hirelings on your main, and do writs. Build up stock for a while, then go buy cheap recipes in guild stores and make the highest level stuff you can. (Or buy recipes with crafters and brewers, which are the recipes needed for writs). The point is that after a month of hirelings you can probably grind any toon to provision 50 in a few minutes.
Put the three trade skills on one toon (smith, cloth and wood). That toon needs to be the hub for your trait research and motif learning.
Consider doing trait research on multiple toons...as long as your doing it. Mats are cheap, your main can make hand me down crap for alts to research. There are minor benefits down the road...not imperative, but why not just do it.
Alchemy, enchant and provision are good to level to max on everyone. Doing writs is easy with these three trades...my character's carry stacks of the needed items, and each day I log in and p, bam, writ done in 3 minutes. For that I get $650 gold,per writ, plus tons of valuable stuff. Writs will make you rich.
If you take the time to level the consumable skills on everyone, you can move around who crafts however you need. A single toon can handle it all because there are so many skill points now...but if you want to spread them out you can.
