"Best" Potions and Poisons for Pvp

howdy everyone...

finally leveled my alchemy a short while ago...need to get in the business of producing some "essential" potions and poisons for pvp...

what a big blessing Sunshine Daydream's Guide to Crafting has been - can't thank you enough for all you hard work @Tevalaur

so, it seems like with the reduced effects of using tri-reagents in these items - it's best to stick with potions and poisons that only have two effects - is that true?

in regards to poisons - how do you determine whether to use poisons which affect magicka or stamina?

is is generally better to utilize poisons which increase costs or "drain"?

so are you suggesting just hitting folks with either a stamina or magicka cost increase or drain and don't worry about trying to squeeze in damage or drain health also?

Let me explain better. Increase cost is op and will get a nerf. With only one effect it will affect your enemy for 10.5 sec( so much better) and it is op, because the cooldown is 10 sec.
Increase cost in 30% is very strong (best option). Dont worry about damage or drain health. But You need test on your playstyle. There are many good poisons of increase cost

good stuff...you rock @LordSlif ...yeah, I saw the nerf to cost increase in the morrowind pts notes...

zerg surfing is cool and all - but, when it comes to small scale I can see (just from how it affects me) - that poisons are essential...

I'm guessing they'll be a big part of battlegrounds...

okay then, I'll give damage stamina and damage magicka poisons a try for awhile...

I prefer enchants. Potion, speed + stamina + unstoppable my go to.

I go back and forth with this all the time. There are so many possible poisons with different awesome effects I don't really know if one really is best. Personally I've had a lot of success with the ones that do double damage over time, but ones that root or (as mentioned already) increase opponent's cost are all great. And then you have situations where maybe it's still best to use the spell power glyph.

I recommend doing this the next time you're at a alchemy station. Start from the bottom of the ingredient list (the wackiest ones are generally last alphabetically for some reason) and every time you see something that sounds weird, click on it and see. There are a ton of odd combos that can work. There is even one that roots someone for like 6 seconds!
