Anything that's in the game and available to use is "legit". A lot of insult is directed towards players using them, when that energy really should be used to implore zenimax to wise up and balance some stuff.
There is no honor in war, only coardinated single combat.
If you choose to play the dueling side of the game, there are usually pretty clear "honorable" rules.
As for AvA and open field combat, people that die will call foul and unfair the majority of the time. Simply because they died.
My advise is to gear and spec how you like, grab a towel and kill everyone that is targetable. Then take that towel and bathe in their tears.
It's your game after all. Do what is fun for you, let the others worry about themselves.

Like this:
- mNB bombers are cheese
- duel shield stacking mSorc are OP,
- gank stam blade with 2H is unfair and untalented
- Heavy armor wearers are cowardly meta sheep
- Long list of OP skills that are unfair: BoL, Hardened Ward, Jesus Beam, Incap, Sap, Prox Det, Destro alt, etc
- Unkillable tank builds are annoying griefers
- Proc based builds are for no-talent noobs who need a crutch
- Stacking sustain is unfair, you need to manage resources
- Infinite dodge rollers are lame abusers of mechanics to be invulnerable
So what is the straight up "legit" builds that don't use heavy armor, procs sets, shields, destro alt, proxy det, and infinite resources?
Are these the attributes of honorable PvP builds?
- DPS armor only (light/medium)
- No stealth attacks
- No damage that isn't from skills (i.e no procs)
- Preferably little to no CP usage to give you easy sustain
- No use of OP skills that are difficult to counter or which kill too fast
- No Many-to-1 gang ups
- Fights should be preferably like duels as much as possible, 1-1, face to face.
I am not sure it is possible to be "honorable" and win, but maybe you guys can explain how to do it.
While there are legitimate issues around some item sets, resource pool size and regeneration times. Usually the people who complain the most about people’s builds are the ones who get upset when they are defeated by those builds.
I ran into a good example of this the other day from a player who could not kill my tank. Someone who was at the glade mine tower sent me a tell stating “u have no dmg pls leave” I replied “I can say the same to you”. Their reply was “ur a tank so no u cant im as tanky as u with 6x dmg rofl”. A few seconds later they got killed by one other player and a four npc guards. They are “as tanky with 6x damage” yet get killed by one player and a few npcs.
When I looked up this player’s name it turned out to be some kid twitch streamer. Which was funny because they were complaining about me using reactive stating it was “cancer”. When anyone with any actual logic wouldn’t spam crowd control on someone using reactive or focus a tank.

And aren't they always running something they found online?
If I got a message from someone running something unique, sure I get it, but when you're runnin, Viper, Selene and BR you really don't get to say anything.
