Hi,
I`ve been playing a sacrifice healer and it just isn't as good as a normal healer but has lots of flavor. Instead of just getting strong heals and become near immortal because the heals also work for the caster, I actually stack health and protect it with blazing shield, and if people ignore me, I sacrifice my health with equilibrium to power healing spells for my friends. My health becomes my teammates's health if people ignore me, and I just have so much of it. But it gets better, because at a point ZOS implemented Guard. Guard also increases the magnitude of all healing on one target, and all it costs... is my health.
It's just a lot of fun because people can't attack me but they also can't ignore me. The initial idea was because everyone loves attacking healers, I want a healer that loves being attacked.
So much for the theory! In practice it's not working so well with my new build.
Attributes + Enchants = all health for large blazing shields.
Abilities first weapon bar:
Mystic guard - I`m very happy ZOS implemented this celestial ability.
Channeled Focus - it both increases the amount of blazing shields, and the amount of healing spells for my friends, whatever is needed. Also triggers major mending.
Blazing Shield - nice nice nice!
Radiant Aura - More blazing shields / heals. I ran out of mana in 1v1 while I wasn't using this yet.
Structured Entropy - bigger blazing shield / more powerful healing.
Abilities second bar:
Guard
Extended Ritual - for purge and maintaining the major mending buff..
Breath of Life - spammable heal.
Toppling Charge - to reach a fight fast and immediately create breathing room for a friend under duress by ccing. Keeps me moving and ccing prevents more damage than my healing spells heal.
Equilibrium - if people ignore me, I use this to punish them for letting me keep full health. In theory it could even be used to keep empowering blazing shields, because 1 health turns into about two health points by casting equilibrium, then cast 2 blazing shields.
For sets I was debating much. Heavy armor gives me green pact and plague doctor, but I think endless health is not helping me much, if people ignore me. Instead, I use three jewelry plague doctor and two heavy plague doctor for big blazings, and a light magickaefficieny set (currently seducer, may switch to desert rose or so.). This means I`m losing my heavy armor mitigation which I hopefully won't ever need anyway and get so much mana efficiency that though my blazings are smaller, I can cast them much more often, equaling to even more protection than before and can heal much better if I`m being ignored.
My stats in purple gear in non-champion point campaign are 50k health, 2,3k magicka recovery, in addition 480 magicka / 2 sec from channeled focus, plus 400 per sec from radiant aura and -27% to magicka cost reduction, 500 health/stam recovery.
What are your ideas and what's your advice? Problems I noticed is that I either refresh my blazing shield early and run out of mana, or risk taking hits and end up with no health fast.
I also noticed I can't take as much beating as I hoped + my healing is just really low. My BoL heals 5k tooltip, so with major mending and battle spirit that's just a little more than 3k heals...
Nothing seems to work and when people attack my friends they oftentimes die so fast I feel I couldn't help them sufficiently, because guarding takes time, putting down my major mending buff takes time and by then it may be too late. Curious about your thoughts on how you would build a sacrifice healer.
