Console UI showing on PC. Bug?

Hey all,

30 mins ago my UI was fine. Logged out to drive the kids to school, came back home to play some ESO before work and it's turned into the console UI. I can't select any options when talking to an NPC, when trying to pick a chest I can't move the lockpick left or right, can't select various menu options, ...

Anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to 'fix' it? I turned off every addon, removed every addon, logged out, logged back in, ...
I'm at the end of my tether here. I've absolutely no idea how to fix it.

Please send help :(

    Perhaps you have an xbox controller plugged in and ESO defaulted to the gamepad mode. There is an option in the settings to use the gamepad mode. Try disabling that option or unplugging your gamepad before launching the game.

    If you don't have a gamepad plugged in, then I am not sure. You might also check the UserSettings.txt file and make sure it the following is set to zero:

    SET GamepadPreferredEnabled "0"

    Thank you so much. I've no idea how "SET GamepadPreferredEnabled" managed to change it's value to "1", but reverting it to 0 fixed it. Thank you once again!
