Is desert rose still viable on a mag dk or would something like black rose and seducer be better

To answer that question it requires many much more info. Like spec, class and desired playstyle results. However as far as a sustain set, for a class/spec focusing on magicka, it does indeed still far outshine Black Rose, imo.

Well, I haven't yet taken Black Rose out for a spin since they changed it, but I don't use either Rose.

I use Seducer/Rattlecage/Skoria at the moment. I prefer the reliable cost reduction of Seducer versus RNG/situational sustain sets.

Try all 3 and see what works best for your playstyle.

I would try all 3 but desert rose sword and shield are ridiculous to find thats why i asked before i commit to spending an outrageous amount of gold

If you are wearing black rose you have to wear 7 heavy. Well you dont have too but then what is the point?

In 7ha black rose gives you 1.75k magicka and stamina. As long as you are getting hit.

Desert rose you can go 5 HA 1med 1 light (or 2 light if that is your fancy). Every 4 seconds you have a 15% chance to get 2.5k magicka. So... If you are getting hit enough you will get about 750 more magicka every 4 seconds. Assuming you are in 5HA you will also get 900 mag and 900 stam. So in total 3.4k mag and 900 stam. This is not counting mag and stam recov.

So yes it is still good. This is entirely dependend on you getting hit enough to proc it every 4 seconds. Black rose is garantued every 4 sec.

Could always go 7HA, black rose and desert rose xD

I think im gonna stick with desert rose and probably do trainee

Trainee was nerfed a lot harder though.

I was going to go with Ice furance since I am Breton and already have spell resistance bonus

I still think its pretty good i get 18k stam 27k health and 39k max with it. And i think magicka furnace cool down is too long

Starting to get to the point were I wouldn't spend a lot of resources on gear upgrades. We have no idea what the next patch will do. With a new class and Battlegrounds coming out and ZoS "testing" no CP, there could be some major changes.

it would be on a magicka dk i planned on doing 5-1-1 with 2 bloodspawn and either 5 desert rose and seducer or trainee

If you wait for a patch where ZoS doesn't change everything, you'll save a lot of resources ... all of them.
