Maintenance for the week of November 18:
[IN PROGRESS] PlayStation®: EU megaserver for maintenance – November 19, 23:00 UTC (6:00PM EST) - November 20, 17:00 UTC (12:00PM EST) https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/668861

Thank you ZOS, for allowing really bad players to exploit this broken game

Feedinginsanity
I am on PS4 NA, and I can tell you that I am in tears writing this post. In Azura's Star, right now, all 3 alliances are exploiting alliance points by taking turns flipping the outposts, 2 minute rotations, each side gets like 14k each flip. This is a really broken in-game mechanic, and I don't think that you seem to realize how problematic this is. Never do this double AP thing ever again. This is the only reason that this is happening. This happens all the time, yes, but the only difference is that this is so freaking obvious and they have done it every day, all day long, since Monday... I know people do it all the time, but I just don't want this game to turn into what's happening right now.

In the end does it really matter? I mean, you can buy whatever set pieces with gold on the broker for mad cheap. Monster sets at the Golden are cheap when it comes to AP. A guy with 10000000000 AP gets no advantage over somone with 10 AP. Is it the titles you want? Leader boards? If factions are trading no single faction should be winning that much over another. It certainly cannot be the skills from assault or support as they are easy to get without abusing AP mechanics. I can't even play during this double CP event because I'm in a hotel with crappie wifi yet I could care less if I come back and my buddies suddenly have thousands of more AP than me. Because it doesn't matter! It 100% doesn't matter and I don't know why people keep complaining about it. AP means absolutely nothing in this game and honestly it's kind of sad.
Hey everyone! Look! It's a signature!

You're in tears? Really? Let people have their cookie. The whole point of the double AP event is to test performance with no CP and massive zergs (they need lots of people to put strain on the server), having double outpost values is a good incentive for this.

BTW skill does not equate to how much time you play. If you're upset that people are able to farm two weeks of AP in one week who cares? Everyone has the equal opportunity to farm AP, and even if you end up not being able to play during that week, why does it matter? The real no life, no job, no spouse neckbeards will play 16 hours a day to farm AP whether its double AP weekend or not. These people might be upset (ERM MAH GERD MAH APS!) because they tie their ability to farm AP faster than everyone to their sense of self worth. If this is the case they need to take a chill pill and enjoy the PvP for what it really is...which is PvP.

APs can be converted into gold through motifs or other.

Let's pause and think about the new players who really want to PvP and are not sitting on piles of APs and/or gold as we old timers are.

The flag-flippers' behaviour is a total disgrace, which does have an impact on the economy and the general moral(e).

But the blame to me is all on ZOS, who let it happen, while dozens of easy fixes have been suggested.

How stupid do you take these devs for... of course they knew what would happen. They have watched these servers for 3 years.

They wanted to strain the server. 500 people on 1 spot spamming aoes will do exactly that.

flipping keeps may not be in the spirit of the game as you expect it to be but it is not a an exploit of a broken mechanic.

They are single handedly stripping away the things that keep people playing.... Want the maw skin? Glitch it. Want a super high PvP rank?... camp in the rocks around Bleakers and earn 450k AP an hour... People have gone from Tyro to Palatine during this mess. Bleakers and Nickle are where Grand Overlords are born. All while watching Netflix and YouTube videos. Not to mention the monetary gains to be made. Way to go ZOS.

Please, this isn't an exploit. ZOS is fully aware of the AP gains as they're the ones that recently increased them, then doubled them this week. You can argue that you don't like the metagame that this change has spawned but please learn the definition of exploit as this isn't one. Nobody will be banned for legit flipping resources repeatedly.

Talk about abusing a system that rewards flipping outposts. The level of collusion between alliances is so bad right now...deflated AP items, inflated AP ranks, AP in general is flooding the market, PvP Ranks at this point are a joke....I hope the AP boost was worth the integrity of the game for the Devs.

SOB my "World's First Blabba blah" thread just won't catch the same kind of attention now!

See I agree it's discouraging to see such behavior, however if your reason for being disgruntled is because some sort of caste-based hierarchy that comes with a freakin title has become jeopardized by the availability of such title then I have absolutely zero sympathy for you.

My concern is over the spirit of the game where titles and achievements become more important than the majority of the player base having fun, not that my status may be overlooked by strangers.

It is an exploit, it wasnt intended to flip keeps back and forth, it was intended to make resources & keeps/outposts worth more. Exploits start by using legit mechanics for their unintended purposes and playing hot potato with keeps isn't pvp at all.

To add: "In video games, an exploit is the use of a bug or glitches, game system, rates, hit boxes, or speed, etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers"

    *Puts on tin foil hat.

What if this was all a scheme by ZOS. To get players to do just this. Then deflate AP so bad that it is not worth much. This move being pulling right before the new expansion, and it's 4v4v4 battlegrounds release. Seems too convenient and strategic to me.

    *Takes off tin foil hat.

But in all seriousness. I think the integrity of the game is the same as before. Minus the fact that AP is going to drop like a rock. Unless the trade alliances step in to save it.

They are metagaming to achieve an advantage but no rules are being broken. Nobody is glitching into a keep. No 3rd party hacks are being used. No macros. The game mechanics are being played exactly as designed, it's just that the design is crap.

Very very sad, however very very true.

Technically that is not an exploit, bug abuse, cheat or anything of the sorts. Its just a way of grinding AP/AvA Rank.

It's not a a "form of play," these boosters are sitting in a resource, not fighting, and taking turns flipping the resource. There is a wall that remains down so people are free to enter and leave the resource. They are not battling for the resource. It's an exploit of a mechanic in it's purest form. Such exploits have resulted in discipline from ZOS.

Rank means nothing AP does not have much value

lol, 500k ap for roughly 100k in game gold. So say a booster was doing this all week and made 20 million AP, which did happen for players, that person could make upwards of 4 million in game gold. That doesn't include the money they would make selling the higher end rewards of the worthy items.

I get the OP's frustration, but I don't think that you can call keep flipping "exploiting". The alliances have decided to make turns to manage Bleakers because they gain AP by doing so. Enemies have made peace, and have smoked a couple of joints together.

While you and I might not like it, there's nothing in the ToS that I know of that forces players to fight the other alliances while in Cyrodil or that prohibits the making of alliances. The playerbase is doing something that ZOS allows them to do, so if ZOS feels that keep flipping is not what they want, they should change it.

My question - how can ZOS prevent keep flipping?
A solution might be to introduce an AP penalty to all the alliance's players who are in Cyrodil whenever a keep is lost within a certain time of it being captured. Example: if yellow captures Bleakers and loses it again within 15 minutes, all yellow players currently in Cyrodil loses the same amount of AP that capturing Bleakers gives. Flipping will still be possible, but at most 4 times an hour.
    PC, EU
Not elite, not the best. Just enjoying ESO.
Not the worst either. "Casual" != "totally ignorant"

Easy to fix this. When flags are flipped have the walls automatically repair themselves and all enemy players in the keep/outpost instantly die (similar mechanic that happens near a scroll temple). Now other factions will have to seige the walls again--using AP to buy seige and slowing down how fast the flags can be flipped.

It would almost remove wall repairing as a mechanic but would stop the keep flipping.

Soon: threads about collusion to flip cropsford.

I thought the game was just about kicking everyones ass, I wish they would go to a guild based system where your PvP rank is earned through the guild and not the game and then useful perks unlock that alloy you to do certain things.

Then we can just kill everyone.
