Can I do anything about the main quest line being broken for my main character? (Xbox One)

Hi, all, pc beta tester from back in the day. I quit playing the pc version awhile back, and then picked up the console version about a year and a half ago. Then, I quit playing that, due to a broken main quest line and no solution provided from CS. I just picked up the game again on console this past weekend, and figured I'll give it another try.

My Caldwell's Silver quest is broken. It happened in Eastmarch, while I was completing the chain to help King Jorunn. I dropped the "lifeline" quest before completing it, due to changing my mind part-way through about whether I wanted to help the father vampire or the son vampire. When I did so, I somehow lost the ability to move forward in the chain. Thane Oda Wolf Sister quit talking to me, and I"m not able to move on to the Mistwatch section of the questline (the part where I am trying to use the help of the monks to save the king. I can go to the Mistwatch area, but there are zero quests available.)

I know some other folks have had issues with the extensive nature of the quest chain, and it not behaving as straight-forwardly as other quests. Customer service offered me zero assistance - neither a year ago, nor this past weekend - even insinuating that I had "made my choices" within the free-will nature of the game, and thus am suffering the consequences (grr.)

Dropping the quest is not even an option, as far as my research indicates. I've thus far been scared to try it, in case there is a solution out there.

I tend to be a completionist, and I would really like a way to finish the main storyline.
This is all part of the game.

Can you get into Mistwatch? If you go into the cave, can you use a portal to get to the main Mistwatch area? Alternatively, is Mistwatch Wayshrine unlocked? If you can't get into the area, or if there's no quests available when you do get there, the next thing you should try is going back to Fort Amol. When you get to Fort Amol, go to the Jarl's Manor and see if you can find Thane Oda Wolf-Sister.

I have revisited Fort Amol around 50 times, trying to get Wolf-Sister to continue the quest. No luck, she just says blah blah and goodbye. Mistwatch wayshrine wasn't unlocked for me via a quest. I found a secret path through the mountains on you tube, and used that as a way to get in and unlock the shrine a couple of weeks ago. I was hoping I had found the way to continue my quest, but, no luck. The king is lying in there, on the slab, and the priest just says blah blah and goodbye to me.

I've already completed The Rift part of the Almanac (which comes after Deshaan,) too, where I happen to see King Jorunn alive, somehow. hrmph!

I really appreciate your suggestions. This has been a lingering splinter in the game for me!

Dropping Quests and starting over is the number one way to fix a borked quest. The issue is, picking the darn thing back up again, as it is not always anywhere near with the quest takes place. Usually it is where the previous stage ended. So, look in your Journal, find the name of the quest you are stuck on, or the name of the last quest you did and use this page to pick up the thread again

This probably the quest you need to do

The per-requisite is Lifeline, which has a bunch of concurrent quests that might be confusing the issue

Thank you kindly for your detailed response.

The quest line is "Blood Feud" under the EB quests. I have the first part, "keep the nord celebration safe and sound," checked off. I am stuck on the second of three parts, "reach the dragonshrine and stop fildgor's vile plot." There is no longer a quest anywhere to be found for me to proceed, and I can't port, nor go through the cave, to Skuldafn.

I have traced the questline online, and find that i am stuck after completing "lifeline" (the quest i dropped halfway through, in order to change my choice.) I remember that I killed the father after changing my choice, and the town shows as "complete." The concurrent quest, "our poor town," does not show as complete, even though i remember killing the trolls. Stormy-eyes only shows up in mistwatch (which I was only able to get to and check due to finding an easter egg glitch through a mountain) but offers no further help. Nor does Gakurek or High Priest Esling.

*correction: stormy-eyes and gakarek show up in that cave outside of mistwatch. stormy-eyes just says that he is glad he saved his friend. Another correction: darkwater crossing (our poor town) shows up as white, meaning "complete," i think. there is no text under it, though (e.g., "you saved darkwater...")

You mean the Vampire's Father? I remember not even doing that quest one time when doing that zone (I was in a hurry so did as little as possible)

Have you done the Council of Thanes? Rescued the King from his Nightmares? Those have to be done before you can ever find the cave to get to Skuldafen

it seems to have broken just before Council of Thanes. Joruns Strand still shows as incomplete for me, but there is no quest giver there.i think someone was supposed to send me there just prior to the breaking of it.

Is Mistwatch showing as complete (white) or incomplete (black)?

on Caldwell's Almanac, the quests are complete through Wittestadr (ended the vampire fued, which is where this all went wrong.) From Mistwatch down, incomplete.

OMG!!! Wolf-Sister IS in the manor!!!! She is ALSO outside, at the tents where I received the quest from her to do the vampire feud, and that is where I kept returning to (since there was no quest marker on my map after the mishap.) Her quest arrow didn't show up on my map until I actually entered the manor, so I had no way of knowing.

I HAVE THE QUEST AGAIN, WOO! THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU. You just fixed a 2 year frustration of mine :) Zenimax should pay you!
