How should I wear my armor?

I'm planning on 1 light 1 medium and 5 heavy. Should I wear sash(light waist), bracer(medium hand), and heavy for the rest? Because hand and waist armor provide the least protection. Or should I do it differently? I am a templar imperial tank/healer hybrid or just tank. I am open for tank, tank/healer hybrid for templar.

I did not realize it stacked, so your right at R9, it would have an impact. I still don't have this unlocked, even at Rank 1 on any of my characters. I may never get it. The curse of having Alts

I know the feeling it took me forever to get max undaunted on my 12 toons but its well worth the effort

I know it might not be much of a difference by a balance and some bonus can be good. I'm now wearing random pieces of armor from dolmens just to level up though.

That is what you should be doing while leveling just try to keep at least 1 of each armour type on even if the level of it is lower than the rest it will save you a lot of time once you finish leveling

I guess it's sash, bracer and heavy rest.

OK, this all depends. For leveling, you want to wear a mix of armors so you can wear whatever later on in the game. Also, while leveling, the game is buffing you big time, so I would recommend going 3/2/2 with the 3 being Light or Medium for Magic or Stamina. Why? The buffing is taking care of any build deficiencies.

If your already leveled, or your armor skills are at or near 50, then it still a good idea to wear a mix. But, and this is a big one, unless you have Undaunted leveled enough to get the passive that gives a slight boost to your stats for wearing a mix, your better going 5L/2H for a caster (heavy on Chest and Legs) and 7 Medium for Stamina (maybe 5M/2H but that all depends).

Also, this Undaunted Boost is not all that big, so don't feel like your gimped as you work towards it. You probably wont' even notice the difference once you finally unlock it. You get a 1% boost at Rank 7, and a 2% Boost at Rank 9. Every little bit helps, but you can make up for it in different ways if you don't have the passive.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

for rank 9 you get 2% per weight worn so for 5-1-1 you wll get 6% stats which ends up being quite a bit

Well, @Jonno pointed out something I did not realize. It is worth it at the second rank. The first rank, maybe.

But you need to do some group dungeons to get Undaunted Leveled. You can get it up to around 3, high 2's just from some Dungeon Achievements for damage/blocking and the like. By the way, those are bugged right now so you earn them far faster than you should (unless they stealth fixed it in a patch). Do some public dungeons and delves to get those.

And, since your leveling, wear the 3/2/2 or something like that, as Set Bonuses are much more important than Armor Passives/Synergies while leveling. Also, wearing armor that has the Training trait will really help you in this so you can wear an optimal mix sooner.

Yup, I'm farming resources, investing points in crafting and researching. I kind of regret researching 5 pieces of light since I'm changing to heavy now.
