Bug with quest "Through the Shroud"

I am playing on the NA servers for PC.

I am attempting to do the quest "Through the Shroud". The quest asks me to use the gray jar near the npc. The tooltip telling me to press E to use the gray jar pops up, I press E and nothing happens. I press it again and it says "Item not ready yet". Since pressing E doesn't work I went into my inventory, right clicked the quest item and selected "Use". That also did not work.

I have tried disabling all of my mods. I tried abandoning the quest and logging off for an hour.

I know the quest works for other people because I have seen many people come in, drink they potion, and turn into a skeleton.

I am not sure what to do at this point. It's a bit frustrating since I have been saving up for the Autumn's Gate house since homestead came out and now I can't do the quest line to get the achievement needed.

I tried logging on today after the server maintenance to see if that fixed my problem. Sadly it did not.

I have a few screenshots of my character trying to do the quest. As you can see, I have the item and I am in the right place, it just doesn't work for me.

This is a game breaking issue for me. I spent the entirety of last week saving up gold to buy the house and now that I have 60k I can't buy Autumns Gate because I do not have the achievement. I can't get the achievement because this quest is not working for me.

Hello Reznaak,

I have the same problem =(
All Players I see in this area can solve this quest and nobody has a Problem with it.
The support can't help me, now I made a Bug Report.

I tried to restart the quest, killed all my addons, use another char for it and I also reinstalled the full game. No success :-(

I found a fix for me accidentally

I was sitting on my mount and tried to use the questitem, my char dismounted but he used the item without any problems

I try various things including trying sitting on my mount. Nothing worked.
What worked for me was going to barrow (with the dark ball on energy above it). A beam came out of the ball and eventually killed me. I resurrected beside Belron's tent (used a soul gem). After resurrecting, the option to drink the potion appeared. This time it worked.

Sorry for the slight necro; just want to confirm that this works. I was stuck on this quest (doing Cadwell's Gold), and doing what you did was the only way for me to use the quest item. Thanks, SecretServant. <thumbs up>
