Why do I have such weak PVP DPS on Stamsorc?

Hello - need some advice.

I hear that Stamsorcs are competitive and forgiving in PVP. However in my hands this seems to not be the case.

One of my mains is an Imperial Stamsorc, that seems to be so weak in PVP that my prolonged attacks can almost be ignored, whereas in PVE I get about 25k single target DPS with great survivability. I can solo IC zone bosses easily , am Stormproof, can solo most vet none DLC dungeons. So am not a complete potato.

I play on TF on EU for AD. The PVP setup is

2h - Sharpened Maelstrom Battleaxe (Gold)
dw - Sharpened Maelstrom Dagger (Gold), Infused Maelstrom Axe (Purple)

5/1/1 5x Heavy Seventh Legion Brute, 1x medium veli helmet, 1x light veli epaulets (all purple) (sometimes use Kra'gh or Stormfist)
3x Agility Jewellery (purple) all with WD enchants 2x Robust, 1xhealthy

Bar 1 2h - Rally (flex Crit Surge ), Executioner, Reverse Slash, Hurricane, Stampede, Dawnbreaker of Smiting
Bar 2 DW - Rune Prison (flex rearming trap), Streak, Dark Exchange, Rapid Strikes, Bloodthirst, Suppression field.

Weapon Damage with Crit Surge/Rally active is about 3300, crit is 43%. In Cyrodiil health is 32k, 12k Mag, 33k Stamina when buffed with purple food. Crit resist about 1k,

A typical attack would be Rally, Hurricane active, then Stampede, LA, switch bar Rune Prison,LA, Rapid Strikes, LA, Bloodthirst, switch, attempt Dizzying swing or throw an ulti etc, etc.

However, most opponents are barely fazed by this, and there health bars barely move, and on some occasions ignore the attacks whilst going after someone else. Then despite having 32k health and 20k resistances I die very quickly.

I typically play early morning before work (about 5am to 6 am), so the players in cyrodiil are often very high level ones that spend a lot of time there, so I don't expect to be able to win 1v1, but would hope to occasionally get their health to below 80%.

Any suggestions for equipment or skills that might help me be more competitive?

    for pvp dw is weak . you want to use 2h and bow with bow as your buff bar. move hurricane to back bar and take out dw abilities. slot poison inject and keep the rest the same. on 2h bar slot dizzy swing and use rally instead of crit surge. keep mana for just streak and dark deals to get stam back. when you get vigor you slot that instead of rune prison.
    back bar ult you want overload that way you get the overload bar and you can slot crit surge there if you are running at least 40% crit in pvp and what other abilities you want like trap beast.

    idk any good sets but that is a basic set up for pvp stam sorcs

    Troll post? If you can't get anyone below 80% with that setup, I have some sad news for you.

    edit:
    slotting Executioner and Reverse Slash gives you +50% to PvP skill.

    P.S. DPS in PvP is not that important. Burst is what you are looking for.

    You have way too much hp and not enough stamina. Most opponents should be dead shortly after your dizzying swing connects and knocks your opponent to the ground. Perhaps you dont have cp in the right trees. You should remorph stampede into crit rish as well.

    Your DPS isn't what's wrong (well it is but not what you're asking) it's your burst potential.

    Timing burst after a cc is what kills good players who are off their guard.

    I'm working on a stam build too, also been a magicka player my whole time.

    So 2h huh? What if instead of bow using SnB? Could that work too?

    Right now Stam is honestly hurting .... for example ...

    The magicka dragonknight change on leap... it delves for less then the physical leap..... However most magicka DKs are dark elves mean damage passive... and dk flame damage passive... then most people in pvp are vamps so that's +20% ... so in the end it's actually performs better... also magicka seems to have easier access to empower.....
    Just one change that magicka got on one class .. when I first looked at it ..I thought wow good change but it still hits for less, but when I started using it I found real game application was stronger then my Stam DKs Leap...

    Just one example ... Stamina is definately hurting but it was king for almost a year soooo .. I guess players that favor stam will have to wait till things swing back....

    Outside of a group, current effective strategies require that you stack damage/pierce at the expense of survivability stats, which then leaves you at a disadvantage defensively having non-competitive defensive mechanics, on top of which you have to stack only offensive abilities with cast times. Or procs. It is a glass cannon at best.

    Sure, its possible to do well. They can come out on top in a lot of situations - against inexperienced groups, or groups who haven't taken full advantage of coordination, players with unique/abnormal play styles, players who don't play extremed builds. But fundamentally the class feels capped when you fight any kind of extreme tank or damage class of another type - your assets are your mobility and having wider utility, but comparatively these things are not balanced correctly in an errorless scenario on both sides of a fight with any other class that is at an extreme in some capacity (tanking, healing, damage). In particular because mobility is so gimped at close range, every class can easily mobilize on top of you to counter at significantly less cost than it cost you to mobilize in the first place. Increasingly, the best strategy is to simply not engage; especially with the addon that detects stealthers going around - that's half of what remains of the class in terms of having an edge.

    Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the class is total derp, but it just seems to be permanently capped given the history of patches.

    Thanks for the advice, I'll change to 2h and bow, get some stamina glyphs on the armour, and give it a go. I've previously had more stam in a medium armour build but was completely squishy.
