Question about Nightblades cloak...

So, in the middle of a fight if I still have the crosshairs on them does it matter? Can they still just go stealth and they disappear completely from my screen?

And if so what's the counter to this. I've seriously had too many times where they've failed at ganking then at their near death just go stealth and run away.

Use an AOE ability, I use piercing mark but I'm a nightblade, you may not have access to that ability but detect pots work just as well.

Yes, they can still cloak if you have the crosshairs pointed on them.

What class are you? There's a very good chance you're already running an ability that counters Cloak, you just have to use it.

There's lots of counters to cloak: Magelight, Expert Hunter, Flare and Piercing Mark are the most used, along with Detect Pots. Any AoE like Impulse, Sap Essence, Draw Essence,... or Ground placed DoT like Path, Lightning and Eruption can reveal Cloaked enemies

    The answer is
    NONE!

Tryxus listed a few counters, Streak and Talons and Entropy are also there.
But none of the counters works reliably. You'll just blow through resources and let your guard down, which is exactly what they are waiting for.

Don't chase, get back to your group and smile when people on the forums whine about zergs, knowing that those scumblades are responsible for people travelling in groups.

    Also, Eye of the Storm.

Detect pots. I never enter cyrodiil without them. The detect/immovable/Max magic potions are a life saver. They work 100℅ of the time. This way you can deal with gankers without having to zerg.

I'm a Stam Sorc, I usually just try to get around where their area is with hurricane but it doesn't work at all. I could be right on them and it wouldn't show.

They're probably using Shadow Image before they cloak to put range between you and them. Look for where they place the shadow (it'll be a dark, translucent figure shooting a bow at you) and go there when you think they've teleported to it.
