About the PTS Patch Notes

Take what you read with a grain of salt and not think it's the end of the entire world until you actually try it out in PTS, alright? Like, really. For all you know those are "troll natch potes" and not the true balance. For all you know, these 'Balanace changes' could be VERY GOOD for your builds and classes. You won't know until you try them out.

Until there, can we all just be happy that they are finally putting in true TES content? Housing, amirite? It's about time.

Now, @ZOS_GinaBruno, I see there was crying, but is there any chance we can get word on when PTS is going to go live? I would love to play tonight sometime. The fact that it's a 4GB download already hurts.

Yes, how dare we express opinion and hopes and dreams about this game on a forum dedicated to communication and the flow of ideas about said game... You're right. What silly, nonsensical creatures we are.

    -__-

I don't understand these threads that complain about complainers. What is the point? Should I just give in and start a thread complaining about the complaints of the complainers?

Quit complaining about people complaining about complainers.

Probably. But here is another little tiny suggestion that would help with the clogging and keep people from seeing new things.

Just like on reddit forums, people tend to do a search of content that they want to post about before posting, and yet that can't be applied here?

Say you want to complain about the DK chains or whatever being nerfed. I get it, probably tick me off too if I used them. I would go and find someone else that has already made a post about it and type there my frustrations and what could have been done better, or differently instead of making another thread complaining about how it's messed up and worthless. (I have no idea if it is, I honestly couldn't care.)

As it is, things that could be important for the rest of us are being shoved down two or three pages where we have to dig through, yes, pages upon pages of people complaining about this.

Now, let me make it clear so it isn't terribly difficult to understand for everyone: I get that people are mad about the "changes" that have come with these patch notes. Sure, at one point I would have been ticked too. But once more, grain of salt. This is JUST PTS. Things are subject to change. You are allowed your feelings, just as I am allowed mine. I am allowed to feel annoyed and peeved from so many people complaining about something they haven't even gotten to test, just like you are allowed to feel annoyed at me for being annoyed that I am annoyed. Does that make sense?

And that's it. That is all. Be mad, be salty, be whatever. But if you are going to bash on someone you feel is bashing others, then you are every bit as part of the problem when I was offering feelings and insight <3

I hate to be the one to say this, but if they do it the same way as in all the previous testing cycles, hardly anything will change before it goes Live.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Every freaking patch cycle we have someone crying "just wait till PTS," then we try it on PTS, and its still terrible.

SO they change their story. "Just wait till live, PTS only tells you so much" they say. Then we wait till live and its still terrible.

So they change their tune again. "Just give it a few months for everyone to adjust".

Your delay rhetoric does nothing for our community. You know ZOS doesnt give much time for changes before they push to live. Bad ideas need to be pushed back against quickly.

Nothing cringier than someone blindly defending a video game company. The changes might be good? What if you're a Magplar that relies on RD for all your kills -- the changes might be good for you, right? What if your main uses blackrose? HEY THE CHANGES MIGHT BE GOOD FOR YOU! Don't knock it til you try it man! Hey what if you play MagNB? GOTTA TEST IT OUT MAN, YOU NEVER KNOW -- A 38% INCREASE MIGHT BE A GOOD THING FOR YOUR SUSTAIN.

It's ridiculous of you to chastise people for expressing their opinions -- I don't have to go on PTS to figure out that RD is worse, that shuffle is worse & that Heavy Armor didn't get a nerf.

The only thing I wanted to see was Heavy get a massive nerf -- and it didn't. Should I go download the pts to check for myself? HEY MAYBE THEY GHOST NERFED IT -- Gotta check.

    Some of us are experienced enough with out classes and build through playing the game for years, to be able to predetermine whether or not a change is good for us. I do not see anything remotely touching on;
    - the uselesness of Templar ultimates
    - half of the Templar passives are completely useless for stamina
    - only 3-4 Templar abilities are actually worth using in any given scenario for stamina
    - that Templars have the lowest sustain/damage from their passives of all four classes

Stamina Templars are hurting right now in both PvP and PvE due to the lack out damage output and proper passives and good magicka dumps, outside Purge, and nothing in these notes will help them so I remain every right to be skeptical. I do not need to test anything to know that nothing will change for me.

Maybe with the exception of going magicka with a frost staff and run around derping, because who gives a flying *** anymore. It's about time ZOS did something to bring Stamplars up to speed...

You are absolutely correct. Adverse forum comments produce a fortress mentality.
The louder the complaints the less likely they are to have an effect.

Get over yourselves and quit whining and go do something useful. Like, I dunno, learn how to code and go join their Dev team.

It's that easy to get a job at Zos? I'm in the wrong field!

Come on now. Everyone knows ZOS outsources everything. Coders dont actually work there!

Like I said, and I sound like a broken record now, this was not meant as a bash post. If anything it was just to bring to light that, with the exception of what @Zinaroth has pointed out, a lot of things are changing but people don't know what's going to really happen. We've already been seeing the rise of all things mag for a while now with Stam getting literally crapped on, and to me it just feels like people expect something to change there. Clearly there is a love for mag within the dev team behind skills and classes.

Overall, this was just a post to say give the PTS a chance before we all riot against ZOS for changing things up and seeing how people feel about it. And also to do a reddit type search and post in already created threads to keep newer things that haven't been posted from getting shoved down.

One giant megapost with 500k views or whatever and hundreds of comments is likely going to generate a little more talk within ZOS than 500 one-liner posts with a couple views a piece because they are the same as hundreds before. Just my thought here, naturally.

Oh, and from what I can see, this update is not meant to be catering to PvE or PvP or anything like that -- But Homestead. That's what this whole entire update is about. Housing, furniture, things that are very important to every single TES game ever. The true PvP/PvE 'balancing' patches will be later on, but give Homestead it's chance to have some people talk about it.
