What weapons are you Experienced mDKs using?

I just got my mDK to lvl 50. I can't decide between 2x S&B, or S&B/Destro, or S&B/Resto, or Destro/Resto.

I'm looking decent Sustain why wearing Heavy armor.(Not Black Rose) I'm also looking at being able to put on pressure in solo situations.

I use to run double SnB but now run SnB/ destroy on back. Destro is only for ult and I use weakness to elements. I agree with above can drop resto once fine with sustain and using igneous/cdb with deep breath/ burning embers for healing. A lot f people like running draw essence morph but if you have to use that to help sustain your not doing mdk right imo. Deep breath interrupting all casts (big help against group member getting hit with RD) helps a lot more. Otherwise go SnB resto till you get your build down to not need resto. I play a light armour dps mdk (have heavy sets made and done before but prefer my mdk in light)

The destro doesn't give you much benefit because heavy attacks are going to be dodged and the penetration only works on destro abilities. Our main damagers are melee range as well so you don't really get much in the way of a ranged advantage. There would also be that awkward moment where you meet another dk who will reflect you. I have always used S/B because we have no mobility, and blocking is our main source of survival.

I think the DKs that use a destro just use it on their back bar for the ultimate. Thats fine if you have the sustain and have the space for cDB and igneous shield for your healing. I don't have that kind of sustain so I have to use a resto staff on my back bar because the heavy channel and rapid regen with a vma resto give back a lot of magicka.

I think the four choices you have are SnB/SnB, SnB/resto, DW/SnB, or DW/resto.

SnB is your main source of defense. DW gives you a little more offense. Use resto if you're not comfortable with igneous/CDB+embers/deep breath for healing.

I think for open world, double snb is the meta. For duels dw/resto is better imo though

I use DW/Resto, but will replace DW with desto for certain delves or WBs. note: my mDK is also my main crafter, so my attack/defense choices are a bit more limited then most peoples.

Sword and board, sparkey staff. Cant block, dodge or reflect a sparkey staff.

For tanking/melee use SnB. For ranged dps use Destro, I prefer lightening for high DoTs/AOE. My fighting style is mostly ranged so I prefer destro/destro. Using SnB is a stam build. It is not usually good to mix stam and mag builds as it makes one weak all around. Most prefer all stam or all mag. On mag build you would use your skills like talons, burning embers and whip lash for melee.

Yeah after playing mDK for a few days. I'm pretty much with you on this one for now. I knew it was going to be out of the way difficult compared to my other Classes. However I was not ready for how difficult it is. I'll just keep her as a crafting toon till mDK gets that much needed buff. StamDK is by few more rewarding to learn how to play in this current meta. Plus I haven't had much time to grind the niche gear mDK requires. More like go politicking for people to run with me to grind the gear sets for my mDK. I've been spending much time practicing how to play one of the few action MOBAs lately.

So my mDK will be put on the back burner for a while. Till it become less work and more fun to play.
