What are you stam NB guys using?

lristau
lristau
Just wondering what kind of armour sets and traits you guys run to survive better out there. Also weapon choice with traits and mundus stone? Do you run health enchants or Stam enchants? I was thinking about learning how to craft nirnhoned armour but heard it might not be good anymore.

Thanks!

I'm currently running all medium armor, all with the impenetrable trait. 5 pieces of Hundings Rage, 5 Spriggan and one bloodspawn helmet. All stamina glyphs on armor and all weapon damage glyphs on jewelry.

My playstlye is 2h/bow. Part of my survivality comes from the impenetrable trait and the rest comes from dodge rolling at the right times. My 2h is sharp for damage, and my bow is defending for extra damage mitigation when I'm trying to escape.

As far as learning nirnhoned, only do it if you're a crafter or want to be a crafter. I have all traits learned because I prefer to craft my own stuff and not rely on others. Back to nirnhoned, it's not a good trait at all anymore. It used to be OP, but now it's next to useless.

Using Senche, Clever Alchemist and 1 pc Kragh, vMA 2H front bar, Alchemist bow back bar.
Full medium, 5 impen 2 well fitted, all stamina glyphs, 2 weapon damage glyphs, 1 recovery. 60 attributes into stamina and 4 into health. Shadow mundus. Max health + Recovery food. Sharpened front bar and defending back bar.

Hits hard, especially with Alchemist. Been playing around with Spriggan + Alchemist and Spriggan + Senche too. All 3 set-ups are great, can really decide which one I prefer.

Survivability comes from the speed (full medium = insane sprint speed), dodge rolling (also to proc the weapon damage buff), shadow image (for messing around with enemies), cloak (shadowy disguise for the burst) and knowing when to fight or flight.

I run 5(m)/1/1, 2h/bow. 5x Spriggan (on 2h bar), 5x Clever Alchemist (on bow bar), 2x Selene. Stam/mag regen drinks. Shadow Mundus. Stam Enchants on armor, weapon damage on jewelry.

Survival on a NB is usually more about juking opponents and avoiding damage than about absorbing it. Shadow Image is essential, as is good use of LOS and dodge rolling. Trying to tank people is bad - I leave the heavy armor tanking people stuff to the much more hardy stam classes.

    1) Especially if I'm outnumbered sometimes I have to turn tail and run. The moment my back is to an opponent I'd lose those buffs from surprise attack and from cloak or hysteria the buff isn't up enough.

    2) Chudan has 1.5K ish more resistance on top of the buffs. If I'm not aware of an opponent (a sniper or ganker) the buffs are already there. This matters because I also am sure to use a defending weapon on my bow bar, pushing base resistance to mid twenties. Which is not bad.

3).Other tanky/survival setups, like malubeth or engine guardian reveal location, or I'd have suggested them.

I run 5 trainee: 3x jewelry, 1h sharpened main bar, 2h precise off bar, boots
5 spriggans: 1h sharp main bar, chest, legs, belt, arms all impen.
Heavy Selene impen, light tremorscale shoulders infused. (Undaunted passives)

I switch between 2 food choices depending on playstyle. If I use blue orzagas trifle pocket, I can have 27ish k HP, with 14k magicka and 37.5k stam with 2300 regen. This is more of a tanky setup when I run with my guild.

Solo play, I use that blue lava food that gives 4500 stam and like 450 stam recovery. I actually love this setup. I still have about 22.5k HP, but my stam is at 43k+ with a 2300+ regen still. The damage I do with incap strike has 1shot people outright. Got a 21k incap strike last night with this setup.

This build is straight no procs just pure raw stats. Even the monster set pieces are mismatched for + stam bonus for stam overkill. WD when buffed is at about 3500, with continuous attacks, I push about 2700 regen.

I've tried to build something outside this meta of procs, heavy armor, cheese in preparation for the proc nerf and I'm very happy with this setup.

great stuff - thanks for sharing everyone...

I stopped watching build videos a long long time ago...

I've been pretty active on the forums for a while - so, I've read about a lot of different builds...

with 1T there are just so many options - doesn't hurt that zos keeps sending us out all over the map with these wild goose festival hunts...

my "stamina" nightblade is about due for a re-tool...

it's very cool reading the different ways you've all addressed different preferences and playstyle's...

I use all medium, 3x agility (arcane with 2 glyphs wpn damage, 1 health recov), 5 hunding's and 3/4 night mother's gaze (divines, impenatrable, reinforced, health, stamina glyphs)...dw on 1 bar, bow on the other...warrior stone...purple regen drinks...

I think my attributes are 44 stamina, 16 health, 4 magicka...

I mostly pvp, and while I do run around and cloak a bunch - i also like to find some nice high ground and just fire off my bow - lethal arrow and poison injection suck stamina lile crazy...

that arcane jewelry and the few magicka points (he's a breton too :)) help me use cloak, hysteria, surprise attack and swallow soul...still enough stamina for the bow though...

unbuffed the bows a little over 3.1k in 1T, I use grim focus and flying blade to buff - too lazy to pop pots :p

of all my characters - this one probably has the toughest times in dungeons and against world bosses...work's real well around groups though - 'let's go surfing now, everyone is zerging now - come on a safari with me'...

hey @DannyLV702 ...oh my god - you got me rolling brother...

I know - it is a mess, as soon as i step into a vet dungeon, I'm immediately reminded how bad it is...thanks though for being so cool and honest...seriously, good looking out brother...

kinda like hitting the bar and having to tell your buddy, that the half bottle of colgne they poured on ain't really working so well for them...

it's one of those I'm a procrastinator and any day now I'm gonna take care of it...

this was my first character built...I've pretty much left him the same (nostalgia, no, just lazy :p)...

I do okay in cyro and IC, but, mostly because I can use my surroundings pretty well...

oh yeah, swallow soul - just added it again after many months of leaving it on the shelf (switched out poison arrow)...just wanted to have a ranged magicka attack to balance with my ranged stamina attack (lethal arrow) on one of my bars...

i do use some light/heavy attacks with my lightening staffs and bows...mostly though I'm using abilities...

my main focal point for my pvp strategy is to try to avoid putting myself in bad situations :#

The days of balancing stamina attacks with magicka attacks ended long ago with the death of softcaps. Your Magicka should be mostly dedicated to cloak, fear, and relentless focus - and typically using Arcane rings or giving up enchants for Magicka is a no-no because the damage you lose from stam is much more imperative.

Also, poison injection is amazing. I wouldn't pull that off your bar unless you are going pure 1-shot ganker build.

I got a small confession - i kind of like the way the animation of swallow soul looks (not quite as cool as invigorating drain, he's a ww though)...

my fave animation all time is mass hysteria - i'll spam that, even when I don't really need to...

not to get weird (too late now, huh?), but, I kinda want to retire him and just let him craft, fish and farm - take him out of pvp...one of the reasons I've left him the same...

cuz I'm rocking the super fantastic treasure hunter perk at the moment (at about 460 total cp) - I've taken a real hit in my cp stam, magic recov and cost reduction...

so running lethal arrow and poison arrow on the same bar is eating up too much of my stamina...

not a problem if I respec my cp...but, just didn't feel like doing it this campaign - thus, I'm currently rocking the swallow soul :)

Well I figured the whole point of Dreugh King Slayer 5 piece would be because you want major brutality. That set is outstripped by many other sets once you count 5 pieces. Spriggan, Hunding's, Viper, Draugr Hulk, and probably half a dozen others at least. Are you planning to go 5 heavy?

edit: Also, Kra'gh 1 piece is amazing if you are running a 1 piece. It's a straight up 3.9% increase to damage when attacking armor (not shields). For most builds 1 Veli/Kena is worth 1.5-2% dmg at best.

Hmm ah ok, I see what you mean.
To be honest, its the only full heavy set I have and it gives Damage and Crit so I thought it was worth a try out.

I'm not planning on it, just thinking that I can easily re-equip to Heavy if the current PVP situation demands it.

I've got both pieces Kra'gh too, will have a look at that tonight, cheers!

You could try Hunding's Rage crafted in heavy, or Black Rose. Both are great for heavy. If you are set on Dreugh King Slayer, then go 4 piece Dreugh King, and 2 piece monster set (Selene for Velidreth for DPS, blood spawn or maybe engine guardian for tanky). Just recommendations of course.
