So I caught a 72 hour ban today. Apparently I can't use the names

1. George W Ambush
2. Burnie Standards
3. Thomas Jabberson
4. Sadam Sustain
5. Ronald Regen
6. Osama Bomb Laden

I can't name and shame the person who got me suspended, now having to change ALL of those names after my 72 hours of suspension, but you know who you are and I'd like to thank you for being you. You're super cool and not at all a whiny little bch, so keep doing you boo boo.

I've got to say - I found the names creative and humorous! I like how you can pretty much tell the class or build from the names, and yet still identify the political figure! So much better than "Overload Owns You" or whatnot! On that note - what have you got for an "Overload" build, anyway?

Thank you I appreciate that. Unfortunately not all agree. I'm really not trying to be offensive at all with them, I worked pretty hard at coming up with game/build relevant puns.

maybe i should stop kicking the *** bots-pestilence from my guilds, seemingly these names are more of an issue for zos than the bots...

Suspending over that is ridulous. Its an embarrassment to the process. Reporting names has always been a tool of vengence in every game I have played. This game has its own safe space for people to run to called the ignore button there is no reason to ban over such a benign name parody. There is no harm intended, why not simply ask the person to change it instead of banning.

Well it's somewhere in the TOS. We're not allowed to impersonate nor ridicule "celebrities"... I guess that would fall in that second category.

That said, I think those names are actually very good ! Congratulations. I agree that it is much better than many names around. Especially since we have 12 slots and plenty of "double-XP-events", the general "quality" of character names has dropped drastically.

Too bad you're targeting international or US celebrities. There are plenty of character names around that do the same with non-US or more "local" celebrities - it's just that the mods don't know about them.

The Tos is loose on names, but it does say you can't do this:

The names are grey area, but your entire toon list does reference easily other people. And Osama has directly caused harm to some people to warrant them to report OP, especially since he added "bomb" to the name.

I think the suspension is correct.

yeah, being a pvp BombBlade, I thought it was a clever pun, although I had initial reservations about the legitimacy of the name I came up with. I mean, you can't even say "bomb" in an American airport; what in the hell made me think I could use the word bomb in an obscure reference to such a red-flag name in a video game? Admittedly I knew that that name in particular was towing a thin line, and I may have not been reported had it been "Barrak O'Bomba". I have to now change all of them though so that sucks. I should make a post for people to pick my new names for me lol. That would be fun.

Agree. 6 was pushing it, but I feel like 3 and even 2 you could have gotten away with if the others hadn't brought attention to your account. Pun wisely my friend.

Makes me wonder about people whom truly are named Thomas Jefferson. I would be so upset that I got in trouble for using my real name and it just happened to be after a celebrity.

Or... what if I become famous? Would I then have to change my name?

Like Archer and Isis? They totally had the name first.
