Somebody please explain to me how to pvp. I do not understand pvp in this game at all, I dont know what is important skill wise, gear wise, how to do good damage or how to stay alive. At first I had a magicka nightblade, I could stay alive decent enough but did not have enough burst damage to kill people. Now I try one of syphers proc stamina builds and I still don't do enough damage nor can i stay alive even in heavy black rose, with vipers and tremorscale. I dont know what to do people just run all over me, they out damage me and out sustain me easy. Dks trap me in talons and just play around and kill me, templars dps me down while maintain extremely high heals, sorcs knock me down with frags and dps me down, and other nightblades just cut me to shreds. I have no idea what im doing in this game or what makes a character strong, pve is no problem but pvp is a mystery to me. Also please explain how to use vigor because I see other people use it healing them selves up instantly while I use it, it does nothing except burn my stamina down is their something you need to pair this with or what? Right now im a nightblade but pvp is kicking my ass, I hate to have to restart a character because I work alot and don't have time to play very much, but I would like to know each classes fighting style maybe nightblade is not for me idk.

Black Rose Viper Tremor is SnB and is better for stam Dk and stam Temp imo

NB is more really high offense and low defense (generally speaking)

You want something more along the lines of Viper, Velidreth, and something like Widowmaker (off of my head) just more offensive sets so you can kill more quickly.

Black Rose and Tremor SnB type stuff has more resource control etc, things as an NB you generally don't care as much about.

You want massive damage with your ult while proccing the sets for a knock out punch.

Of course there are NBs that are different but I'm thinking you want the general stuff first.

I know there will be some responses from experienced NBs.

Firstly, if you are below 400 CP, you are going to struggle as the power creep after that is too immense to ignore in PvP. Secondly, one MAJOR part to not dying is having FULL impen. I do not care what other people say, if you are not a shield stacker in this game, not wearing full impen is detrimental to your build and imo WILL get you killed more often. Make sure to stack some points into the crit resist in the CP tree if you don't have a lot of impen gear, and always have a way to escape by using streak as a sorc, shades as a NB, but templar and dk are usually tanky enough to not need an escape measure such as those. Stack most of your blue cp into mighty (I at max put 85 into might and the rest into the bonus damage from crits).

On the topic of vigor, since it is a DoT you should only cast it once as casting it again will only give the same result as just letting it run its course. People get massive heals by stacking a decent amount of points into blessed and if they are a templar or DK, get bonus healing from igneous shield or templars passive while standing in either ritual or the smaller circle thingy. If you are a sorc or NB you unfortunately don't have access to major mending which i feel is a massive imbalance between the classes in PvP. Since you are playing a NB and are struggling with survivability, I recommend using the dark shades ability on your backbar so if you are in a sticky situation, you can recall to the shade and give you a better chance of either getting away or resetting the fight. While shades on a stamina nb isn't a "meta" thing to do, it will most likely be more efficient for you to do so.

I hope this helped, but as i in NO way consider myself an expert pvper, you should take my suggestions with a grain of salt. Even though i am not an expert i do feel i have a very good grasp on how to play in pvp. All in all, don't copy someones build exactly as you do not play exactly like them. Perhaps consider dropping either viper for another more tanky 5 peice set or tremorscale for something like engine guardian or blood spawn.

you can have the best gear in the game, and still not peform well, if u do not understand the mechanics.

i would not surjecst proc sets, since its more about cooldown on proc, rather than u actually controlling your burst.
and as a new player, u defendly want to learn the trades.

in short its about pressure, and burst. not dps as u know it until now. after this comes all the other stuff like mantaining resouces and staying alive.

burst u get from comboes. and comboes u need to find an opening for. and that opening is mostly something u create whit what ever play style u use. also. know when to use the burst. do not go for the kill, unless u know u can kill. that is a good thought procces. and if u dont kill, u reset.

there is a ton of tricks in this game, most u can get from take notice how people kill u. what worked on u, how did they pass your defence.

i give u a scenario, let say u meet a player, 1v1, he charge u. as stamblade. you might let him chase u, if build for surstain u dogde roll a lot, since low healing, so better avoid damage.
lets say u get a few hits on him, so he maybe got 80% health left. but he is still on your ass. now u are in defensive, and he is offensive. when he is offensive, his defence is mostly completly shot down. he think he is in control. this is here u can turn on him. light attack - surprice attack . bash combo. now he is at 50% health, u use fear and use incap ult. if he dont die, u use execute.

try create these scenarioes. u want to by pass his defence, before u burst. and that is the mechanics u want to look for.

    - Find a group
    - Always be sneaking, running or riding
    - Assume everything is a trap
    - Keep your head in on a swivel
    - Cyrodiil and dueling are nothing alike. While usually a good dueler should be good in Cyrodiil it's not always true. A 100 person fight is not 50 1 v 1s. In a situation like that you have to worry about keeping yourself alive. A big fight is kind of like a wave. There will be a 10 to 20 meter zone in between Zergs that is basically insta-death for anyone who isn't a tank. If you are ranged stay behind the wave. If you're melee (and not a tank) you must kill your target instantly or you're dead. If you're melee, not a tank, and soloing you had better be invisible.
